Great book!
This is a great book. But do not order books from Amazon - they pack all books like garbage and all books arrive damaged.

A good book about saving money.
He started with nothing and had most of it left. I learned a lot about Europe's debt ridden Monarchies, religion and business. A good read for anyone that owns a business. Amazing how history repeats itself. Set in the 1500's, this book still rings true today.

Well deserved Five Stars for something "new" in history.
What makes “The Richest Man Who Ever Lived” by Greg Steinmetz worthy of five stars? First of all, it is different. Most books of history contain a lot of re-write from other history books which re-writes from yet other history books. The Richest Man is the story of Jacob Fugger, a name unfamiliar to most.Second, Richest Man Ever was not written by a historian by a business journalist turned securities analyst. With his business and journalistic experience, Steinmetz, makes 16th Century capitalism something worth reading about.Further, the main figure in the book, Jacob Fugger, lived in interesting times, the onset of the Reformation, the last gasps of the Holy Roman Empire, and most relevant to the life of Jacob Fugger the end of church’s ban on interest.Jacob Fugger has been described as the “Rockefeller of the Middle Ages.” However, as net worth as a percentage of the total economy of his times, Fugger, at his heights, Fugger was likely richer than William Buffet, Marc Zuckerberg, and Bill Gates combined. That makes his story worth reading and Greg Steinmetz’s book worth buying.

Impressive
Very interesting story, it's incredible in how a single person was able to change the world, change the commerce, put kings in the throne on the XV-XVI Century, and even push the vatican and Pope to change their rules. Impressive how a single was able to manage the world and not being very knwon in the present. Impressive.
