Seems good enough
We had stainless tea tongs but it doesn't seem they lasted very long before the welds broke. We hate wasting hard earned money on things that break quickly and would even be willing to spend a bit more for something that will last. Unfortunately, no such better made than our last ones tongs exist. Saw this little device and thought it might be a good alternative and already owning a good deal of silicone kitchen stuff, some getting close to a decade old, it seems to be a durable and lasting material. The price point of this is on par with a pair of metal tongs and the design seems well thought out. I somehow managed to order and pay for 2. Not sure if I really accidentally clicked 2 quantity or a glitch in the ordering system, but I guess I'll give the extra to my mom. I did knock off a star because the silicone used does not pass the "bend" test and definitely shows the characteristic white lines when crimped that it is a cheaper grade of silicone which contains fillers. However, as this would only be in contact with a small amount of tea for a very short period of time, I am not overly worried. Overall, this seems like a decent little device that will hopefully outlast a pair of metal tongs.
