good coverage, fit
I needed a good, UV filtering sunglasses that weren't polarized. These dark lenses work well in bright sunlight and I can still read my LCD screens

I needed non-polarized sunglasses for the HUD in my wife's car
I recently had cataract surgery and no longer need prescription glasses. Since I am not used to buying and wearing sunglasses I bought several different kinds to try them out. These Ironman sunglasses fit and do a good job of keeping the glare down. These particular ones are non-polarized, which is what I need for driving my wife's care with Heads Up Display (HUD). Another brand I tried (polarized) made it hard to see the HUD. I'm not sure if my eyes are still settling in after surgery, but these sunglasses appear to distort my vision when I look through them at some angles.

I've had a pair of these for years!
I originally bought a pair of these years ago in Florida so that I didn't trash or lose my high $ glasses on the beach or in the water. These are lightweight and very comfortable. I've taken the originals to the beach for years and worn them constantly around the house when doing yardwork or outside activities. One of the nose pieces finally tore, so it was time to find a new pair. To my surprise, these are still made. I was so pleased with the original pair, that I went ahead and ordered two pair in preparation for when the next pair wears out. I rarely say this now, but this is a really great product for the money.

Good for aviation
Needed non polarized for flying and the thin sides make it more comfortable under my headset. Would buy again even though I’m more partial to wayfarer style.

Broken arm
I really like these, and figured with the name Ironman they'd be real sturdy, but after 3years, the arm broke at the hinge. I was just opening it, no abuse! I really like them, but 3 year life span. I guess for $13, that should be expected.

Great sunglasses
Hmm lets see here... I've been buying this model of ironman glasses for over 10 years... ive had about a half dozen pairs.. they are great, they fit my head fine, they work decent as safety glasses, and they are durable, pretty difficult to break and easy to pop the lenses back in, and they dont fall off my head much. Worth the 20$

What you need in aviation with glass cockpit
Today, most sunglasses are polarized and that nice in bright sun and on the water. They simply do notbelong in the cockpit of an aircraft with electronic displays as they will frequently wipe out what your trying to look at. Good old, dark photogray is what you need. While the glasses are not high quality they get the job done nicely and reasonably and seem to stand up well. I have 2 pair of them. I did find one area where I was not real happy with them. I have a pretty large head but even on me, the temple clamping is a bit week. No problem in the cockpit but if your involved in a real active activity like running or bicycling , they might fall off.
