Best for the money
I've struggled with other HDMI switches once I added a Roku to my system as I kept getting the awful purple HDCP non-compliant screen. Stepping up to The Avenk HDMI 5x1 has solved the HDCP problems. This also allowed me to remove another device from my setup, the audio extractor for my headphones. We use wireless headphones for listening to loud action movies when the kids are trying to sleep and extracting the digital audio signal has been troublesome and prone to failure and interference. This Avenk HDMI switch does this seamlessly and a few months in I'm having no more issues. I've tried at least 6 other HDMI switches over the years and so far this is the best.

I really wanted for this to work. Alas.
The specs on this were perfect for my needs. Unfortunately, this did not consistently pass signal. Occasionally, it would allow something through, only to dash my hopes time and time again.I tried every conceivable resolution and frame rate, both native and convereted, and it made no difference. The remote did a delightful job of switching between inputs, or so the little indicator lights told me. But nothing more than the little indicator lights.I should know better than to trust a $50 device to handle these tasks reliably. But I hoped, I really hoped this would suffice.

HDMI switching works, Audio extraction not so much.....
The power adapter supplied is not even working and when i finally get a good power adapter and able to turn it on here is what I found:- The HDMI switching works well and it is one of those box that it doesn't has any smart switching which I like a lot.- The audio extraction from HDMI which is the sole reason why I purchase this device, only works with one of my devices (which is an android TV box). All my other devices: computer, xbox, cable box...etc doesn't NO audio.

Great idea, didn't work
Great concept, poor application. Received a dysfunctional switch that would not hold video connections. Checked functionality with current switch, checked cables, issue happened with all video inputs. The product's concept is phenomenal. I think we may have just gotten a faulty switch.

Check HDMI standard
I had to return this item. It turned my picture purple. I suspect my old model JVC TV does not support newer HDMI standard. I'm using unbranded ATSC receivers and a Dinger HDMI switch from Shenzhen that work fine. I still want a five input switch with audio extractor.

Product has great features and a great price
Product has great features and a great price, but the audio keeps cutting out. I also noticed a slight delay in the signal, such that if the TV volume is up at all it sounds like an echo chamber. I think I may return this, and get something else.

Not compatible with Sony BluRay player or NetGear and ChromeCast devices
Would not process the signal from 3 devices: my Sony BluRay player, and either the NetGear or ChromeCast devices. It cut in and out at regular internvals, probably a synch problem. Apparently, the problem with these switches is that despite how they are specified (e.g. HDMI 1.4), they don't seem to be able to ensure compatibility. Advice on line is to order and return until you find one that works, but if you have any of these devices, you might want to skip this switch.

The only MANUAL 5-input HDMI Switch I have been able ...
The only MANUAL 5-input HDMI Switch I have been able to find. Other ones I tried all had automatic "smart switching" which would randomly change inputs on me because they interpreted an idling or sleeping device as having been turned on. This one doesn't have that problem, it stays on the input that I select ensuring that it works exactly as I need it to.
