There is a lot to like about this tool
I bought this caliper because it has both the SAE scale and the metric scale. My wood and woodworking tools are sized in fractions of an inch, 1/2", 1/4", 1/16" etc. so I use that scale a lot. Sometimes I use metric as well, but I rarely have any use for measurements in 1/100" or 1/1000 inch, so dial calipers and calipers with decimal inches are not useful to me.I almost didn't buy this because the thumb "wheel" is not a wheel. It is just a handle to put your thumb against to move the slide. Having a wheel makes it much easier to adjust a caliper. But now that I have it, I find that the slide moves smoothly enough that a wheel is not needed. It works fine like it is.The zero on my caliper is fine, as you can see in the photo. Some reviewers have complained that the zero is off, but mine is OK. I use this for woodworking, and I rarely have to measure anything to less than 1/64", so the accuracy of this caliper is actually overkill for my purposes. Your mileage may vary.At first I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to read the vernier because the markings on the main scale are 1/16" and the markings on the vernier are 1/128". Figuring out an intuitive way of seeing the in-between sizes in 1/32" and 1/64" was not obvious to me. I finally came up with the method shown in the photo. Here is how I do it.Count the marks on the main scale that lie before the zero mark. Then if the vernier lands on the mark labeled "4", multiply the count by 2 and add 1. That gives the number of 1/32" it is showing. If the vernier lands on mark number 2 or mark number 6, multiply the count by 4 and add 1 or 3. That gives how many 1/64" the measurement is.If the vernier lands on marks 1, 3, 5, or 7 multiply the count by 8 and add the appropriate number to get the number of 1/128". I rarely measure anything to less than 1/64" so this is not very relevant to my case.Reading the metric side is easier since that is simply a decimal number, although it only reads to .05 mm, not .01 mm, so there is a slight curve ball there. The caliper has a heavy, solid feel, and so far I am enjoying using it. I can just pick it up and measure something without messing with dead batteries and all that.

What’s not to love about this vernier caliper?
Outstanding value including the nifty storage case. The build-quality meets my expectations. High-quality materials. Can’t go wrong.

Simple and straightforward
I was looking specifically for a caliper to measure millimeters. This is simple and easy to use in woodworking. I find the metric readings easier to use and calculate divisions in many cases. The only thing that I wish was different, the thumb wheel is not a wheel. A little disappointing considering the fact that my cheap harbor freight dial caliper that reads fractions and 100ths has a working thumb wheel. This would be a five star rating if the thumb wheel actually worked

Excellent calipers for woodworking
Bought these because they were cheap and I was getting frustrated by the finickyness of my digital calipers; they'd lose zero frequently, sometimes between measurements. And since I don't need .01mm precision for woodworking, I decided on getting something simpler, where I don't have to worry if it's lost its mind between measurements, and can just grab it and use it without turning it on and zeroing it or finding a new battery in my junk drawer because it ran down.So far, I'm very happy with these. Accurate and precise to the advertised precision, and the build quality is surprisingly nice for a cheap pair of calipers. They also had excellent customer support when I contacted them with a suggestion.

Happy I spent a little more
This was exactly the style I was looking for. Accurate and easy to use. Smooth operation and appears well made. My only complaint is the half inch marks could be longer for quicker reading but overall money well spent

Five Stars but it could have been Six
It would have been six stars if it hadn't been for the fact that it doesn't have markings every quarter inch, which makes it a little difficult to read if it's a quarter, a half, or three-quarter inch. Please advise me when launching a new version with this improvement. ill be there to buy it again. Thanks a lot.

A bit less than what I expected
The thumb "rest" is glued in place with something like super glue, thus it doesn't rotate, so it's useless for fine adjustments. When closed it's almost on 0 but not quiet, maybe maybe 1/100mm off, but I guess that's acceptable for the price (can also be "adjusted" by looking from a slightly offset angle)When opening it it slides smoothly ~4cm but then it gets harder to move, need to release the lock a bit more. But another few cm-s more it happens again. Maybe it's not straight?

I like the quality
I have a cheaper Caliper that works fine, but its low quality bothered me. I bought this one and I like it - it feels and looks nice and that's the way I like my tools.
