STRENGTH/DURABILITYDogs have claws. So, unless your dog can get on his bed without walking on it, his bed should be able to withstand his claws. The mesh used on Fiksu Pets Pet Beds is known worldwide for its durability and can withstand dog claws. The strength and tear resistance comes from the PVC coated Polyester. And what good is a strong mesh without a solid frame to support it? Our steel tube frame is guaranteed to not bend/break from dogs. BREATHABILITYThe raised mesh bed surface allows air to flow through it. Keeping your dog cooler in the warmer temps. The 6 inches of elevation gives plenty of room for fresh air to come and go. CLEANABLITYThis Pet Bed can easily be hand washed with warm soap water. Eliminating dog hair coated fabric in your washer or dryer. COMFORTYou can see from the pictures that, unlike a floor, the mesh gives and stretches in high pressure areas. Rocks, sticks or dog toys under the bed won’t affect the sleep surface like it would on old fashion beds. Your dog will be glad to be done sleeping on bumps and lumps. Please allow Fiksu Pets to help your dog get the rest they deserve! Because no matter how tired they are, they will always be there to meet and greet you with a slobbery kiss! Add to cart now! So Far, We're Pleased!
First thing our Golden Retriever did upon receiving his replacement to his destroyed Coolaroo, was start digging on the material across the dog bed. This is how our 18-month-old destroyed the two covers on his previous Coolaroo. In addition, he enjoyed jumping up and down on his Coolaroo, so he begain to do the same on his. Time will tell, as he hasn't jumped up and down on it enough to break the frame; but the squared-off frame on the Spot & Bella seems to fit better than the rounded off parts on his last Coolaroo. The only problem we had was that since the stitching on this bed seems thicker and tighter than his Coolaroo covers, our dog tends to think this is one has shadows of toys under it, causing him to dig more. I, however, consider this a plus that it has not pulled up yet; and we have been showing him there is nothing below.

Definitely not indestructible! Can work with it with some tips.
So, my puppy is a Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky) mix. He's just over a year old. For some reason, he loves to demolish anything made of fabric (desk chairs, blankets, etc.).First issue I had - assembly. Now, I'm a girl that looooooves to put things together. I really do. I love my tools, I love putting together a pool table or a desk or an office chair. This was the most annoying thing to put together and there aren't even that many parts. The first 3 bars, no problem. That final bar attachment took me quite a while. I thought it was the tension (that others have mentioned) but it was actually an alignment issue. So, if you're going to put this together by yourself, have patience or take breaks to scream at the wall. When I got his I thought it was *far* too large for my puppy. However, on the good side of things, larger seems to be better. Once he laid down on it, I realized it was a great size for him. He's only 28 pounds, but spread out it works.Now.. the "heavy duty" part of this is entirely untrue. My little guy chewed through all four corners the first day he had access to this bed. A tip for those of you that don't want to toss the entire thing into the garbage (like I did) when your dogs start chewing this up: Get some apple chewing spray. I sprayed the corners the second day he had access to it and he hasn't chewed it since. I do spray every few days or so, just to make sure he doesn't completely obliterate it when I'm not around. It really does help - and if your dog is anything like mine, it'll help with the other things they love to chew, too.Getting my little dude to lay on this was a chore as well, but I figured it out. First I just put some treats on the bed and would say "Cot". Then I started holding the treats over it and said "Get on the cot." Now, I just tell him to get on the cot and boom - he's there. He'll get treats if I tell him to get on it and he gets his night time treats (after telling him to lay down on the cot) on the bed. He's started sleeping on it now, with no problems.I hope this information helps! I didn't think this would be something that would stick around, but it did survive the jaws and skitziness in the end. :)

If the beagle is happy, we are happy!
This is the second type of bed like this that we have purchased. We had the first one for 2 years, so no complaints about that as it has been outside 100% of the time. However, it had some metal parts and some plastic parts, so when you picked it up to move it, it was floppy. It was also tearing at the seams from sun damage as it was canvas around the edge, and a soft mesh in the middle. I chose this model instead of reordering the previous one for several reasons. One, this one looked to be better made. Two, it had all metal poles/legs. Three, it said guaranteed not to tear. Now, looking at the pictures, it looked to me like it is fabric, but I kept reading mesh in the product description, so I gave it a shot. It is an actual plastic type mesh product. It reminds me of many of the outdoor furniture chairs that are mesh. It's very sturdy. I saw a couple of reviewers complain about extra mesh hanging out at the corners. Mine came like this as well, but you know what? I just used my little pea brain and figured out that it would be fine if I just tucked the plastic back in. Yes, it was that simple! It makes sense to me that there is extra because if they cut it just perfect, it would likely tear. It took all of about 5 seconds for the dog to get on it, I couldn't even move it into place before he was testing it out. If anything happens to this one, I would definitely reorder this same model.

Good Quality for the Price - Large
The bed is great and my dog loves laying in it. It has held up now for two months, and I have no issues with the quality of the product. The reason for removing a star is that I do not care for how far the legs stick out past the edges of the bed. Additionally, I do not like how the fabric looks sticking out at the legs, but I know it is so that there is a give in the material, so it won't stress and tear. Overall this is a good bed fo the price and you cannot go wrong if you by it. We put a pad over the top like a mattress for her. She is laying it now as I type the review!Note: I bought a large for my 50 lb. mixed breed dog, but could have gone with the medium.

Great bed once you add a little padding
I got this to keep my dog and her bed dry. She sometimes pees in places I don't want her to, and then it always rolls (across the uneven floor) into the base of whatever bed she has at the time, and then we have to throw it away. >:[She tolerated it, but was not really into this bed at all until we put a $10 fluffy dog bed on top of it. It's almost the same size. Before that she looked really uncomfortable on the bed, and I felt guilty letting her lay on it. (I put it in the Bed Spot, and she knows that she has to lay in the Bed Spot to get treats and Do It Right when I'm cooking or doing dishes. So she'd lay on a bed of nails if she thought it would get her treats.) Now that I've put the fluffy bed on top, she sleeps on the bed all the time, even when I'm not doing dishes. The bed has very little substance so I don't think it takes much to make the cot cozier. Just a little padding.Oh and my dog is a 92-lb pit/bully mix.The bed was kind of frustrating to put together (well, the very last bolt was, anyway), so I feel I should mention that I wouldn't want to take it apart and put it together very often, like for camping or whatever. But I like it quite a bit just sitting in the kitchen :)
