Deserves More Recognition!
I've been looking for a poetry collection that is dedicated to mental health. It's easy to find poetry about love and grief but I haven't come across anything solely dedicated to something like depression and mental health. This collection is very raw and sometimes painful to read. I have struggled with depression for a large part of my life and felt like the collection was very relatable. I love that the poems are printed on black paper and that some of the words are grey instead of white to create a "poem within a poem."Overall, I really enjoyed this collection and hope this poet gets more recognition!

Meh
I’m big into poetry now. This book just didn’t move me with words. Also the pictures were hard to see.

Insightful, raw, overcoming trials, healing from the past, wonderfully done!
Beautiful book, black paper, white print, illustration on every page. A poetic use of a poem within a poem using grey inset words. Stunning work from a survivor of abuse, death and depression. She shares how she found a way to grow beyond the negativity of her past. Her creativity is stunning.

Loved it!
This is a good book mostly when your in a dark place in your life if not you can't really relate I enjoyed it even though I'm in a great place just because I understood a lot since I can relate to a little darker time in my life

this was one of my least favorite. It was okay to read
As someone who has read dozens of poetry books, this was one of my least favorite. It was okay to read, but I found myself lingering on the rhyme rather than the depth of the writing. I’m just not a fan of the classic rhyme writing... but that’s my opinion. Other than that it has interesting pages contrasted in both black and white, which was intriguing as well.

I loved the book
So I bought the book for my sister because she had to read it for class and I ended up reading it, I loved the book. I will not lie to you. I'm not an emotional person but this book with every poem it got me emotional. It certainly lived up to what the other reviews say.

I would say it is a lot like the "poetry" I tried to write in high school
It's okay. I have some mixed feelings. It's a short read. It is relatable, but it is very repetitive. I found myself irritated at times. A lot of the same words, "darkness, light, destiny, blood, bones, alone, pain, demons, weak" I could keep going. Some of the poems were almost exactly the same as well. I would say it is a lot like the "poetry" I tried to write in high school. Each poem being basically the exact same thing. But for $4, I didn't really lose money in my opinion. However, I give props to the author for publishing her poems after what she has gone through. So, overall, repetitive, but it's cheap and it was relatable, but I wouldn't buy it for someone else.*Edit* I now see it's almost $40. What's up with that? No book is worth $40. Stephen King's newest book is selling for $13 right now. Come on. Your book isn't even worth $10. I also noticed that the page that is supposed to be 45 says 47.. how do you mess that up?

I love this book
I love this book, the poems are great. I felt no personal connection to the author. I would have liked to known some sort of detail about them, the front cover isn't the best, you can tell it's been printed out terribly. Don't let this put you off, the poems are worth it!
