Great Shoe!
Before I purchased this shoe on Amazon, I had been trying on different brands and styles of shoes at various stores. I knew I wanted something built with good materials that would last me several years, look good with a variety of different clothing options, and work well for a wide variety of activities including hiking, working out, walking around all day, etc., and also at a good price. I'm not a fan of spending tons of money on several different pairs of shoes tailored to each individual activity. I found a pair of these at a store and really liked how they looked and fit. My foot fits well in the size I purchased, and there is some arch support as well, but not overpowering. I've never has a pair of Merrell's before, but they're known for good quality and these shoes look and feel like good quality. They have real leather, thick tractiony soles, an agressive look, and tons of color options. I've worn them for a couple of weeks and they feel great. The best part was the price. At the store I tried them on at, they cost $120. Then I checked on Amazon and they had my size for under $60. I noticed the price was different depending on size, and possibly color, with some of them costing as much as $120. I'm not sure why this is. You might want to select different options before purchasing to see if one size or color is a better price. They are also probably a bit heavy for people that want something really light for running or working out, but for me it just makes my workout a little more challenging. It's not supposed to be easy, right? Other than that, there were a couple of other little issues I should mention. For some reason, the shoe I got looked like a lighter shade than what was pictured. Then I held the shoe up next to the picture, and they looked the same color. It may be that the pictures were taken under different lighting conditions that made them seem a bit darker, I don't know, but I've seen other reviews that say the color is different, and I thought so too until I held them right next to each other. A trick of the mind. The last issue is size, and this is the most important. I'm glad I tried them on at a store first, because I generally wear a 10-1/2, sometimes an 11. At the store I needed an 11-1/2, but they fit perfectly! I ordered an 11-1/2, and again they fit perfectly. So I would probably order one size large if you want them to fit. On a last note, I liked these so much that I ordered another pair of a different color. I felt like these were such a great shoe at such a great price, it was well worth it to have a second pair. These will probably last me a good 10 years between the two.

Still a great shoe
I have been buying Merrell Moab’s for years, in large part because they fit my feet well and are comfortable to wear for long hours, but also because they have good soles and are durable. I have had to change out the insoles (easy) on several pairs but 5+ years of use will wear them out, and the outsoles tread and top-works were all still good. I generally have one ventilated pair (breath well) and one waterproof pair at any given time. Will buy again.

Good shoes!
This is the second pair of Moab Hikers I've had. They are comfortable and they hold up well. The heel is a bit higher/thicker than any other shoes that I've had ( at least since the dress platform shoes that I had in the 70's ) It does take a bit to get used to the thicker heal.

Thin insoles
Thin insoles, I changed to thicker insoles and they feel very good after that. My fav shoes now. Great style, great fit . Will buy again.

This review is about the shoe, not the color.
This was my first pair of Merrell hiking shoes. I've used Keen for the past 20 plus years. It was my fault for believing that Merrill and Keen were basically equals.l with similar products. I just always thought that They sold summer products. I can now rate these Merrell hiking shoes against the past 10 plus pair of Kee The one there and ns I've owned. Was much embarrassing. I'll say that the two companies I'm not even in the same class. The Merrell are far superior to any Kings I've ever owned. But I say embarrassment because my friend's corks etc over many years have been trying to talk and you move over to Mel's. I saw no reason in doing it. I wish I were done it 20 years ago. The superior of the mouse can be seen in south in many different areas. Overall, they're two different shoes. One is an awesome shoe one's an okay shoe. Must keep in mind that I'm a water resistant, hiking shoe person, not a water proof, hiking shoe guy, but I live and die with the water resistant shoes and that's what these are. I assume the same comparison can be made against the two. Nice and snug through the sides when they open up with a really nice toe pocket and I think a little bit longer than other shoes I get which held before tow problems I have I

Great for my son
I have bought these 3 times now for my son, who is now in his early 20's. He loves to hike, and these provide him great grip, enough warmth for cooler weather. They don't have ankle support, but he says the are more comfortable than higher hiking shoes. He wears them every day, or close to it, around his college campus. Having been around him (and my watch counting steps) most days he walks about 5 miles from his apartment to campus, around campus and home. These last him about 18 months, which is not too long, but actually a lot of miles. Happy I can still buy something that is his style, that he will wear and be happy with
