Ideally, we are all familiar with metal tongs which is why this will feel flimsy. It is more towards the softer side. Gripping plastic bottles, for example, picking up baby feeding bottles from the boiling water is quite a task. Not for heavy usage.

The tongs are neither made of silicone or even have a silicone coating so the description by the seller is very misleading. These are hard plastic tongs and are listed as good grade plastic. The sizes are large medium and small and in fact the set is a lot larger sized that I had expected. If you are looking for soft touch tongs then these are not suitable but if you are fine with hard plastic tongs, these appear to be well made and handle nicely . The colors are also fairly true to the sellers pictures of the items.
