That is the only reason I have only given it 4 stars. I am definitely not an expert and they were very very bumpy. However, I got slightly better at putting them on smoothly as I did each nail. So hopefully will be easier with practice. No matter how bumpy I made them, when you cover them with a couple of layers of gel polish you can't even see the bumps. And I did a pretty awful job on my first few nails and you'd never really know! I have yet to take them off with the polish on. But when I messed up one of my nails prior to putting on the polish I peeled it off no problem.I will definitely buy these again if to save time taking off polish later!!Edit: they are so easy to take off. If you've got them wet already, I just soaked an orange stick on acetone and gradually removed them. Took just less than 5 mins in total from start to finish including adding cuticle oil and hand cream.Just a word of warning, as I bought these after damaging my nails previously. These do protect your nails. However, when you remove them it can further damage your nails if they were already peeling/ split. Had them on under gel polish and have lasted a respectable 10 days and that is with my hands in washing up water several times a day, hot tub 3 times a week and general cleaning and scrubbing. Come off really well just have to pick an end up and start peeling, quite satisfying really and no damage to the nail at all, as previous reviews have said I could do with more sizes, maybe if they did packs for small, med, large nails as they are quite expensive and I will only be able to use around half the pack for my nails as I have large fingers but will donate the smaller ones to my friend who has delicate little hands. I have very brittle nails that are week and snap all the time. I love having gel nails but i hate soaking my nails in acetone to removed the gel as it dries out my skin and nails. This product solves the problem as you put it on before you apply gel nail polish and it acts as a base. When i want to take my gel nails off i just peel them off like a sticker and they come off nicely and there is no damage to the nail! If you are like me and find the acetone soak unbearable its worth trying these! My experiment was a success as I got to have acrylics without any harm to my natural nails whatsoever, the glue is very benign, not drying. Due to years of jewellry making and hand seeing my thumbnails do not grow. I use these under press on nails that i glue on with normal nail glue. They last for a week to 10 days. I'd suggest using proper salon nail tip as the cheep ones you can get at the pound shop or dollar store are too flimsy. I paint my own french tips and they look lovely! You can also patch the nail guards together to fully cover the nail as long as you press them down firmly! Am going to order more!
