I use EcoDecalk descaler on my DeLonghi Eletta bean-to-cup coffee machine.Living in an area with very hard water, I tend to run the descaling process the moment my machine tells me to, to prevent any damage to its inner workings.This descaler uses lactic acid, with the manufacturer claiming that it is more efficient than the usual citric acid that many other descalers use. Having looked at some of the other (often cheaper) options I am a bit suspicious that quite a few of the alternatives aren’t really up to the task of adequately descaling these types of coffee machines.I’ve certainly found that EcoDecalk is suitable and keeps my machine in good working order. When I ran out of it and had to delay descaling my machine, it was noticeable that the limescale built up quite quickly blocking the steam outlet for the frothing mechanism. Once I had got a new bottle of this descaler I was able to clear that blockage and restore my machine to normal.A further use for EcoDecalk is that once the diluted liquid has passed through the coffee machine and the descaling process is complete, it is possible to put the used solution in the kettle to efficiently remove any limescale from that.Although I’m quite content to use third party water filters for my DeLonghi machine, I would not use any descaling liquid other than EcoDecalk. For me, it simply isn’t worth risking a relatively expensive machine by using other products which may not be suitable.

My Delonghi bean to cup coffee machine is currently 11.5 years old and still making coffee as good as the day I bought it. Periodically, it will tell me that it needs descaling and i've always used this, which is what the machine recommends I should use.I guess cheaper alternatives are available and perhaps some will be just as good, but i'm not taking the risk with anything else given that this has always worked for me. So, yes, it's not cheap, but it seems to be doing a great job.

I buy this descailer to clean my Delonghi coffee machine. It works perfectly well and removes limescale easily.I even re-use the discarded liquid to descale the kettle and clean other things.The 500 ml bottle can be used to clean your coffee machine 5 times. How often you need to descale your coffee machine depends on the hardness of your water and your machine settings. For me a bottle lasts for about a year. Not too bad.I have had my Delonghi Dedica coffee machine for 7 years, have been always using this descaler, and it still works just fine.Hope it helps.

Nothing worse than realising you can't have a cup of coffee in the morning - utter panic 😂I thought I'd have to buy a new espresso machine after it was just making noises like it was in pain and nothing whatsoever coming out of it.
