This is a professional quality 8 inch chefs knife and is made using GENUINE Japanese steel with 67 layered Damascus process . Ground to 12 degrees per side to ensure maximum efficiency, sharpness and very high edge retention. The product is assembled in China but the steel is JAPANESE - this is how we can offer this amazing knife at such a reasonable price. Prior to launch samples were continually used in a professional kitchen environment for 1 month to ensure quality and consistency - they passed with flying colours. This is NOT a toy and should always be used by a responsible adult. If looked after this knife will give years of satisfaction. We recommend that this knife is NOT cleaned in a dishwasher. We also offer a matching Bread Knife B07PXLYVWM and carving knife B095N82YMG to compliment this exquisite knife.

False advertising
Beautiful knife very sharp but it is certainly not vg10 demascus as advertised, the pattern is simply laser printed onto the blade, this one came with a scratch out of the box exposing the raw steel underneath the print, and it obviously ends at the handle. Nice knife but didn't meet my expectations for the price

It's a good knife but not Japanese or 67 layers and definitely not damascus steel!
The knife is well balanced and sharp but fails on three accounts to meet its description. Better to spend more and get a genuine Damascus (actual multi-layered) knife from Japan as opposed to this look-alike

Remarkable tool
Guys i don’t want to fill the hols. But this knife is a pro full contact tool in any Chef hand. I work 19 mad and passion full days in the kitchen. I head this baby for seven months and sharpened only on the diamond steel . It’s still razor sharp, comfortable as hell. I just ordering another one for my sous chef as a souvenir it’s great tool . And for this price !!! Wow check it and then tell !!!

..
I've got an certification for a disposable face mask 😅😂. I am not an expert but it looks printed on the blade the pattern and the bad part is that the edge of the blade hase small cips on it...

Sharp and looks good.
The blade looks to be only about 31 layers, really this does not matter in a knife. 60 layers are just support and fairly irrelevant anyway. I do have a blade with 67 layers, but that is an old Japanese Katana and not something you want to be cutting your food with. Then I don't cut anything else with that either. The handle does not look wood but that might easily be the treatment used on it.What matters is the core at the cutting edge, and this one seems good.

The knife is already got chips in the edge of the blade
At first the knife was very sharp, the knife has only been used so far on veggies, but it has already started to chip, Iv had cheap knives before that never chip ! Also it is supposed to be Damascus steel, I have had Damascus steel before and with the number of folds it is suppose to have the pattern should be more distinct.Fantastic customer service they sent out a replacement straight away. I do understand the process of hardening a blade and once in a while an edge won’t get hardened, but over all great knife.

Not Japanese. Good product, but made in China for an American company.
The quality of this knife is good. The blade, finish and presentation box look to be of high quality. The knife is probably better than standard kitchen knives, and is certainly prettier than a standard knife. After I received it, it took some research to find out who made it, as there was no obvious indication on either the product or from the seller. The originator seems to be a now defunct US company, who had a good reputation and had the knife range made in China. So it looks like, but is not, a 'genuine Japanese knife'. So good, but not Japanese.
