Best gadget I have ever bought
I have wanted this item for ages, and finally decided to purchase it, once it was on sale.It is very straight forward to use. It did take a few goes to get the flavour of the soup just right, but once I got the hang of it, the time and effort I am saving is immesurable. I am literally flinging ingredients into the soup maker and pressing start. It is a joy to use.For anyone wondering how to make soup delicious, you need lots of seasonings. In a pinch, a good stock cube, dried herbs, salt, pepper, lemon juice, olive oil are the extra ingredients needed for a decent, quick soup. If you have more time, roasting your vegetables, or browning garlic and onion BEFORE sticking it into the soup maker, makes such a difference, but 9 times out of 10 I am just whacking it all in and letting the Tefal Soup Maker do the job. Yesterdays leftover garlic potatoes or chicken thrown in, makes all the difference too.I am really pleased with both the smoothie function, and the puree function. I have always wanted to be able to make my own apple sauce (which keeps in the fridge for a week, if in an airtight container) and now I can do all of this with one gadget. The only function I am not impressed with, is the "chunky" option (or soup with pieces), as this literally just heats the ingredients up. I thought there would have been a light blending function at the end, so it resembles a soup, but although the items get cooked and soft, the end result is more like a stew. Although, in the Tefal soup makers defence, there is a blend function at your finger tips. As long as you let it blend for one cycle, and pull the plug out 1/3 of the way through, it comes out perfectly. The cleaning function is pretty good, although you will need to wipe down with a cloth in some areas, which is not the end of the world. Some maintenance is required, as with all machinery, and it's very easy to do. The water does spill over the top sometimes, when the cleaning function is running, so my tip is to fill the water under the minimum line (only for cleaning though!) and it reduces this issue. For anyone talking about the machine short-circuiting the electrics in the house - make sure you do not have this plugged into an extension chord! I had this issue with a different make and model (which I returned, not Tefal) and these machines can do this when plugged into an extension chord, or when plugged into a socket that is used by a large appliance. Try to keep the plug socket free from other devices, and this should resolve this issue.I have bought toastie makers, waffle makers, rice cookers, air fryers, but this soup maker is the only one I am consistently using on the regular. So happy with my purchase. I hope it lasts for a long time.

Excellent in every way!
This soup maker has exceeded all my expectations! Thrilled with it! Very well made, larger than expected, easy instructions to use, easy to clean and most importantly makes luxuriously tasty soup with such ease. I love a tasty soup but making them the traditional way involves a lot of pots and pans but honestly this is so easy! Can’t wait to try more recipes.

Great but broken
I have used this soup maker every week for over a year and it's one of my favourite things to use . It's easy to use makes great soup and reasonably priced. Sadly however in the last week it has started to turn the blender on as soon as it is plugged in and has now decided not to turn on at all. If I can get it repaired great if not then I will have to look at getting a different brand

Probably the best small appliance we have bought.
We bought the Tefal Easy Soup and Smoothie maker after a recommendation by our daughter-in-law. It has delivered beyond expectations. It is very easy to use. It makes soup very quickly - within 25-40 mins you can go from start to soup made and soup maker cleaned and put away. It makes cleaning easy and once you build familiarity with using it, it can be very easy to clean, but with lentils, you can get some burnt patches on the bottom. The taste and consistency of the soup is amazing. It is particularly good with smoother soups - producing incredible quality and taste unlike anything we have seen. Smooth soups come out with the consistency of a very good veloute. It would make enough soup for 4 people. We have not used it for smoothies yet.

It's just so easy to make great soup
A French friend (an accomplished cook) has had one for years and she swears by it. I've made soup the traditional way for years and resisted buying a machine to do the job, but it was on offer on Amazon recently so I took the plunge. Where it particularly scores for me (with a small kitchen) is:1-pot solution - load, switch on and leave itEasy to clean up afterwardsAutomated programmes (basic eg smooth, with lumps, compote)I like my soups both smooth and with lumps. The latter is easy to make in a large pan of course, but this soup maker scores for me when making smooth soups because I don't have to mess about with my food processor or stick blender. It just cooks and blends automatically, and the soup stays warm if you're not quite ready (in addition to the Keep Warm function).Recommended.The user guide has some quite good recipes, but it's worth investing in a recipe book too - I bought this one because it's the one my friend uses but there are no doubt some good English-language ones available too: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/2035973864?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

It's very good but
It's a very good blender and I like the fact it tells you how long it will take. It is quite tall so you might want to check that if it's to sit under cabinets.Major issues I have with it though (hence 3 stars) IT'S HEAVY. Do not buy this if that is going to be an issue. It's a glass jug but it is heavy before anything is in it. Also cleaning it is a pain. Yes it has a self-clean function in which it boils water but I find stuff still gets caught in at the side where you can remove the lower section that contains the blades. It's also really noisy. All that being said it blends very well. I've not used the heated soup options yet but that was another reason why we spent extra on this. If you aren't going to use the heated options, I would recommend a cheaper blender.
