Great looking mechanical automatic watch at a very attractive price
As I received this watch, the seconds hand had fallen off. I'm used to doing light work, and for me it was no problem refitting it (took less than half an hour, no signs of tools). I was surprised that the watch doesn't support manual winding, but only automatic winding (which means you have to circle the watch for a minute or so, at first, before it starts) - and that's gonna be annoying if it's part of a rotation, and you don't have a watch winder. This is my own fault for not investigating further before I bought the watch; but it's not so big an issue as to being a deal breaker anyway, so I'd have bought it no matter what. The seconds hand doesn't run all that smooth, being on a movement which probably runs at 21600 vph (or maybe below, I haven't really checked, but it's definitely not above 21600 vph).Well, now to all the good stuff. :)- The watch box is very high quality, and comes with a protection cover. No cleaning cloth is provided, but this is a watch box that most people won't mind having standing on their night table.- Visually, the watch looks really nice. The blue face and orange stripe are both every bit as vibrant as in the pictures. The 316L plated steel is obviously of very high quality.- It can be worn by men with relatively large wrists, as well as men with somewhat smaller wrists.- Being a Seiko 5 family member, it shares the same basic 5 traits as is the definition of Seiko 5; which means you're ensured a good movement in a high quality package, especially at this price point.- It runs quite accurate; +/- 8 seconds per day, which is above normal. Tuning this is easy, as modern Seiko watches features a simple mechanism lever to manipulate the watch to go slightly slower or faster. To access this lever, you must remove the case back. Which I had to do anyway, to refit that seconds hand.- The day is bi-lingual; in my case it can switch between German and English.- Ticking is very, very silent, and the rotor isn't heard either, unless you shake the watch and immediately hold it to your ear.- The weight is perfect for my taste; not too light, like most quartz watches tends to be, and not too heavy either, as certain mechanical/automatic watches with many complications tends to be.- The movement is Japanese, in-house Seiko caliber. It's not the very best that Seiko can do; but it's durable and of high quality. As I'm sure that the seconds hand won't be fallen off on any Seiko 5 (I guess I was just that unlucky one) and that the store would've replaced my watch for free (or repaired it for free), I only deduct one star in this review. The price is very, very low - this is a price point just above what many watches with cheaper Chinese movement costs, and with Seiko, you join a respected and recognized trademark with a rich history. Remember; Seiko have watches from around $15 dollars up to around $ 250.000 dollars (fx. Seiko Credor Sonnerie).Seiko 5's hold their value VERY well, traditionally, and most used Seiko 5's sell for around $ 60-80 dollars, if taken moderate care of. Just about any Chinese watch is virtually not sellable at all, from used.

Blue Dial
This is one of two compact watches I found after a search on Amazon. it has a legible day and date and an attractive blue face which I believe I enhanced by replacing the expanding metal wrist band with an almost identical coloured band of OLLREAR make which I believe makes the watch more attractive. After carefully reading the instruction booklet i was able to overcome the initial difficulty of setting the time and date in english and not french and this has quickly become my favourite watch and keeps good time when worn on my wrist. I have also purchased an automatic watch timer which I will use when not wearing the watch.

Trust a seiko
The media could not be loaded. I have had a seiko watch for many years, for the money you can't get a better watchMy old one is now worth over £700 and I bought it for £125 over 30 years ago. For the average man/ woman this is the thing to buy

This watch was faulty from the moment I received it.
From the moment I bought this watch it never kept time. It seemed as if the hands were loose, so I put in a drawer and left it too disappointed to bother the buyer for selling faulty goods. Now I demand my money back or a replacement watch.
