The media could not be loaded. I bought this in late 2020, so it’s now heading into its fifth winter. I chose it based on the well-known brand name, good reviews, and reasonable price.First impressions were that it’s well made with an overall cotton type feeling of reasonable quality, in a simple, neutral colour. I did notice that it doesn’t fully cover the size of the single mattress. I measured it at about 135 cm/4’5” in length, and about 72 cm/2’4” wide. The heating element wires stop about 5 inches from the edge of the material each side, so it effectively has an unheated border. To be fair, the specifications do mention that the blanket isn’t meant to reach the edges to enable it to lie flat, so I’ll accept it’s intended to be this way.The power cable has an overall length of about 8 feet with the controller nearer to the edge of the blanket. It doesn’t have a timer or any bells and whistles, just nice and simple heat options:0 = Off1 = Warm - 12 W2 = Warmer - 23 W3 = Warmest - 40 WNote: These wattage figures are for the single size blanket.An orange light on the controller glows very softly when switched on.It’s quite slow to fully warm up; I always switch it on at least half an hour before bedtime, on No.3 heat, which is warm enough for a cosy bed.The heating wires do protrude somewhat through the fabric, so some people may find that uncomfortable. This could also be the case across other brands as well, and I personally found I got used to it pretty quickly, without affecting my sleep quality.The elastic straps are helpful, keeping it in place quite securely under the mattress.-Pros:• Well known, trusted brand• Reasonable price• User-friendly controls• Well made, good quality, light weight• No unpleasant smell• Reliability: Still working fine after four years• Low running cost-Cons:• Heating wires can be felt while lying on it• Does not entirely cover the mattress• Slow to heat up• Limited maximum heat levelOverall, this is a good, reliable product, and I have not had any problems with it over the past four years of use. I decided to buy an electric underblanket as I suffer from cold feet. The double size whilst OK for a double bed does not cover out to the edges and in my view places the power inlet too far down the bed.After checking the measurements I bought a King size to fit my double bed and it worked out very well. Excellent coverage of the whole bed area.I placed it under the mattress topper to give it more protection and to limit the feel of the blanket wires through the sheet. That too works very well although it may slightly reduce the heat going up into the bed. Its a sacrifiice I was willing to make for the additional comfort.The securing straps are well fitting and hold the blanket in place. The Mattress topper also assists with that and I have not noticed any movement of the blanket at all.If I switch it to the high setting for about 45minutes before going to bed, the bed is wonderfully warm. I do not sleep with it on although it is entirely possible to do so.Would I recommend this product.......Absolutely!.Its my first Electric Blanket and I now wonder how I managed without one. My cats also love it.SilentNight is a well known name and the product appears to be well made. The control unit has three heat settings and two "off positions". I wonder if over time the slider controller may get a little worn as it seems to be of quite simple construction but time will tell.For those who want to automate the times the blanket comes on, there are some other more expensive blankets with more complex controllers incorporating a timer but for my use I do not see a need. I could however add automation by the inclusion of a wifi/app controlled socket should I be minded to.I have tried the lower power settings but I find they are less effective unless on for a longer period. They are more likely to be of greater use to those who may want a very low level of heat all night rather than as per my use of a pre-heat before going to bed.Running costs are minimal.This seems to be a good product and results and my experiences so far have been very positive.

Arrived quickly, well packed with simple instruction leaflet.Ordered Double bed size fits main area of bed ok, elastic straps go underneath mattress easily & was easy to fit.Rather basic looking, but quite well made for the price & does the job. It was comfortable to sleep on with just bedsheet on top of it as instructed.Heating control has 3 settings (1-3) but no automatic timer control so has to be turned off manually.I used on heating number 3 & it heated up bed quite gently to a comfortable heat to get into on a cold winters night. I turned off before sleeping but could be kept on if required on lower heat 1.Haven’t tried the lower heat 1&2 yet.Would recommend if you want an inexpensive basic electric blanket. Guaranteed for 3 years so overall a good buy I believe.

Quality product, placed between the mattress and the bedsheet and the bed was always warm within winter with a heat level for everyone. Was hard to notice there was a heated blanket under the sheet bar the power connector at the bottom bar from this the comfort level wasn't impacted by the blanket.

Great item works well keeps you snug as a bug in a rug very cosy and a great price
