Started out not so good - shipping company called me the morning of the delivery and told me that the unit was too damaged to deliver. I did appreciate that being done before delivery and having to go through the order process again. Order was placed again and another shipping company delivered with no damage or issues. They even placed the pallet in my garage. Other shipping vendors wanted to charge a whole lot extra to place anywhere besides the street. Amazon did give me a $50 credit.Once installed, the unit has worked flawlessly and is a huge sigh of relief for this homeowner who lives on the Gulf Coast. Buy the unit separately and DIY an install or find Ana contractor who will give you an install only price. You will save thousands as opposed to buying from one of those huge generator outfits.

Was surprised at how quiet it runs. It is also able to run our central A/C, water heater and stove all at the same time along with most of the house. I highly recommend using a certified Generac installer to do the installation. They handled getting all of the permits & inspections needed for the installation. The Generac app was also helpful in allowing to monitor the status and to schedule weekly exercises for the generator to keep it in top running condition year round.

Bought this Generac 24kw whole house generator to have automatic power transfer during outages, it came with a 200amp transfer switch and a bunch of useful features. It was packed well and bolted on a pallet, the cardboard carton that surrounded it was a little worse for wear but the contents were fine (undamaged). Note: the generator requires a battery but it’s not included, and if you live in cold weather country you’ll want to order the cold kit which includes a battery warmer and oil filter warmer (worth the money). Also, if you have home wireless there are several features you can take advantage of including Generac’s mobile link which allows for remote monitoring and alerts etc. (visit their site and read more there). I must say the unit is much quieter than I though it would be, I fired the unit up to initialize and we let it run for a bit while we reignited it etc., by wife was in a bedroom right next to where the unit is located and she did not hear a thing. Standing right in front of it with the covers on and shut its extremely quiet, very impressive! (Note: I’m using LP gas and I understand that is quieter than natural gas. (This generator will use either once you set it up right, just a lever to move.) overall very happy with my purchase. Had to use customer support for a few minor things, they were quick and professional.

DO NOT BUY A GENERAC FROM AMAZON!We purchased a Generac generator from Amazon but didn’t install it right away. When we finally had it installed, the electrician discovered that the panel appeared used, with visible rust and burn marks.When we contacted Amazon, they refused responsibility and told us to use Generac’s warranty. Generac then sent us to one of their retailers, who claimed it was Amazon’s issue. Neither company will take accountability. We are stuck in an endless loop of finger-pointing, and now we’re forced to pay $700+ for a new panel just to make the generator functional.Amazon says it’s past their return window, and Generac won’t honor their warranty because Amazon sold us a used panel. This is completely unacceptable.We strongly advise against buying a Generac product from Amazon.

I feel sorry for those who received damaged/dented products, so I feel lucky that my unit arrived undamaged and in perfect condition. Having said that, I see how a flimsy layer of cardboard sheet attached to the base pallet may not provide much protection during shipping. Perhaps Generac should consider investing another $25 for a fully framed out protection.Speaking of delivery, my generator arrived 90 minutes later of the delivery window's upper limit. Since it was a Saturday, there was no-one available to talk to. Phone calls went to voicemail or calling the corporate number message was "mailbox full". Keep that in mind when you schedule delivery outside of normail business hours M-F.Prepare to buy a battery (about $60) and if you live in cold climate, a cold weather kit(around $200) to keep your battery and oild filter warm during winter. None of these are included.Currently working on hooking up the unit. Already ran the gas line and the wires to the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATF).I am giving a 5 star review in anticipation of everything working out as expected. Should something not, I will come back and update my review.30 day update: We had a 1 hr unexpecred power outage. The generator kicked off and ran just fine. Automatically turned off once the power came back on. Very happy customer.60 day update: Additional 2 power outages, each lasting about 8 hours. Generator worked flawlessly. Fired up in 10 seconds after the outage, ran smoothly providing electricity to the entire house and turned off automatically after utility power came back on.VERY HAPPY - money well spent.

5 stars for the generac, no stars for the late delivery and communication. Over 2 weeks late

all done and we are prepared for the hurricane season many new upgrades on this unit over my 20 yr old unit ! we upgraded from 100 amps to a 200 amp unit

The generator was delivered three days sooner than expected with no damage or dents at all. We ordered this one to replace a 16 year old centurion 16kw generator. (Made by generac). 16 years has made a difference. Much easier to access thing compared to before. The technology improvements are great too. Highly recommend. DIY friendly.
