Came missing middle shelf!
after a nightmare of delivery with UPS (Amazon, please either pay them or use someone else!), box arriving cut and damaged, we were ready to start our project. ONLY TO FIND THE MIDDLE SHELF INSERT MISSING FROM OUR BOX. We had to halt our plans to finally finish the mudroom. I understand this might sometimes happen, but their customer service hours are very limited & there's no way we trust the hassle (& cost) to try to return and replace. I went to order a replacement part (not really a replacement, since we never got it in the first place) only to find out they'd like to charge us!We decided to build with what we had to see how to install it and how it will look, etc. We'll slip the middle board in IF we ever get one! (Thank God it's summer and we don't need to use it quickly.)I'm extremely disappointed, too, in the way the whole thing lines up. There are gaps between boards and warping.I will say that they way it "locks" onto the wall seems like it will hold pretty well. We'll be reinforcing it with additional screws into the studs on the back board and above the hooks. We will also be "hiding" the ugly back to the shelves (incomplete, doesn't cover whole space & shows two connecting boards). Be sure to reinforce your unit by anchoring it to studs!!*I'll update my review if the seller contacts me and offers to complete my set of parts.**well, it took me a minute, but i did say i'd update- they did send the missing parts & we were able to complete installation. (We now first check every single piece before building anything we buy, one to make sure it's there & two to check for nicks or damage.) We ended up loving this piece!! It's been in use for over 3 years now! I couldn't believe that when i saw the date! It matched well with the bench we purchased separately. It's very sturdy & has proven to be quite durable. It's holding A LOT of winter gear at the moment!! Thank you to the seller for following through. My apologies for taking so long to update this review! But glad i caught it!! Would recommend.... just check your package for parts BEFORE you start building! ;-)

Sturdy and Functional
Ok, let me start by saying that I read a lot of reviews on this product and I took a lot of other peoples suggestions. The directions say it only takes 30 minutes to put this together. I'm pretty handy, but it took me a little longer than that, maybe 45min. I put the hooks on last, after I had it hanging on the wall. Once you have this put together it is a very heavy piece for one person to lift. I definitely would recommend having two people to lift and position it on the wall. I measured out for my studs on my wall, then I positioned the mounting piece and leveled it. While holding it in place I marked my stud placement on the mounting piece. I removed the mounting piece and predrilled the holes. Then I put the mounting piece back on the wall and leveled again, holding in place I took a small screwdriver(you could use anything that fits in the hole) and went through the holes to make a mark on the wall so I knew where to drill into my stud. I drilled my stud holes then put up the mounting piece. Next, you have to lift the shelf up onto the mounting piece, this is where you will need two people. Here is where I added an extra step, I also wanted to add stud screws into the main shelf (the instructions also have this as an optional step). I'm a worry wort and didn't want the shelf falling down, getting pulled on, lots of coats and backpacks, etc, etc, etc. In the step where I marked my holes in the mounting piece I also marked for holes in the back of the shelf. So, after I had the mounting piece up a lifted the shelf into place (with the extra predrilled holes) I marked for the stud holes also. Then I had to take the shelf back down and drill my stud holes, then (ugh) I put the shelf back up and with the 4 extra stud screws I bought I attached the shelf to the wall. It fits very snug and tight. I added my own baskets and you can't even see the wall behind where the screws are in the wall. I could see this being a concern if you don't plan on putting a basket or something of the sort in there to cover it up. Overall I am very pleased with the shelf, it was a bit tricky to install, but it can be done. *Note, I installed this all myself, but I did get my ladder out to help with hoisting it up into place because of how heavy it was.

great idea, needs improvement to stabilize and for appearance
Like-great capacity, easy to construct, decent price, nice appearance, sturdy ( with proper backing).Dislike-I read the reviews, saw the pictures of broken down items & decided to purchase the coathanger with intentions of making the item more sturdy. When I assembled it, I put wood glue on all connecting fake wood pieces. I let dry an hour & was very impressed, EXTREMELY sturdy! Unfortunately, I feel the reason that one broke off the wall (dangerous & expensive) was the fake wood that is beveled, doesn't have much strength. THAT is why I added a 1/4" thick piece of wood subfloor, glued it to the entire back of the cabinet & put about 40 small brad nails to secure it. I let it dry and hour & then mounted it to 4 wall studs, I also put 2 screws in the bottom, which I feel should allow the extra WOOD and friction from the bottom to be a tremendous bond to the wall. I also saw the screws and knew that they didn't go in nearly enough because fake wood has no strength, it is mush. I went to my local hardware dealer & purchased really long black sheetrock screws that go through the fake wood, my 1/4 inch addition and slightly into the wall. This is one more added bond to the wall. I know that this is overkill, but I didn't want to risk my granddaughter getting hurt when over here, or hurting my cabinet. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase, knowing that fake wood (I knew that beforehand) will scratch easily overtime, but I felt the price was decent enough to put up with this. If the manufacturer of the coatrack would include a small bottle of wood glue (or say it is necessary), include longer screws and 1/4" WOOD backing, I would have given this item a 5, it is very nice (although like others, I have a 1/4" gap in the corner, but can be concealed easily)

Sturdy and Easy to Assemble
The media could not be loaded. It's a modest and functional addition to any home. Its sleek design and sturdy construction make it a standout piece for organizing your entryway. The white finish keeps things simple, while the top shelf and cubby compartments provide ample storage space. Easy to assemble and easy to clean, this shelf is very practical. The additional hooks underneath are a convenient touch for hanging items, light/medium weight. Overall, the shelf enhances both the look and organization of our narrow entry hallway.

not bad to put together
But nothing is labelled, and all the hardware came in one big bag. A little annoying but not a deal breaker. It wasn't hard to assemble but one piece the corner was damaged. It went into a spot where no one will see so I'm not going to bother with returns or getting another piece. You'll need a drill, a level and a stud finder to mount it on the wall, and most likely a second person.
