It works on natural hair!
I have 3c/4a curly/coily hair. I used this for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to blow dry & get my hair silky straight and it was shiny. It took around 1 hour for the whole process since I needed to get use to the product and wasn't hard for me to use if you actually follow instructions. I'm so happy I went with my gut and bought it instead of reading reviews. It worked so well....I currently have a revair but it isn't good for travel, I needed something that would be and this fit the bill perfectly. The price is high but it's worth it. Best decision I made...

Unreliable
I have extremely thick hair with too much volume. It's curly underneath, and straight on the top. I like the width of the plate, and don't find the dryer heavy to operate. There is a learning curve, but it's not steep. I find this to be the most efficient tool I have ever used on my hair. Contrary to what the directions indicate, it's not timely to dry one section, switch to the smoothing section, and then switch back to drying the hair. It takes a good 3 minutes. I sent the tool back to GHD and after they "repaired" my expensive new tool of 2 weeks, then sent it back with the delay. EDIT: I have a lemon. At my own expense I returned it to GHD. They sent it back, supposedly repaired. I have since used it twice. Today, my third time, I got a flashing red light. It is hard to believe, but for $350, this product has a 30 day return period. Totally sucks.

It works as long as you towel dry very well.
The only thing that I did not like is troublesome to hold as a tad bulky and I have arthritis. The effects it had on my hair was phenomenal ! Hair stayed straight for three days and the shine button works super. A bit easier to use as did not have to go through all the layers but just the top. I hope to get better at angling but can deal with it.

Time saver
I live this product! I bought it for a trip to the beach, since I had to wash my hair every day and get ready for dinner it was amazing, it save me a lot of time getting ready. I have really long hair and it takes me about 20-22 minutes to dry my hair.

Great tool, but too expensive
If it was half of the price, it would be a perfect tool for me.My hair is quite fine and wavy, it takes a few passes to get it dry. It’s hard to go to the roots, that’s fine for me bc my roots are straight, but it can be an issue for someone with wavy roots. The hair feels soft and has a nice body, not that flat as with a flat iron (using the drying settings only) so I like that.Overall a great tool, but I returned it bc there is nothing that special that justifies spending $400 + taxes in this tool.

Looks like my hair has had a professional blowout
I use Japanese hair straightening and color. Hence I’m very concerned about damaging it further. I have used this blower/flat iron twice. Long term not sure if it will do damage however the results to date exceed my expectations! My hair looks like it has been professionally blown dry. An affect I have never been able to achieve on my own.The only criticism is that you can’t get very close to the roots. So if you have very curly roots you may need to use a small flat iron.Color me very satisfied!

"But not for me..."
Perhaps I have the wrong hair for this product, but it definitely was a fail for me. I have baby fine hair and so getting it properly into the wide clamps was an effort, and while it did dry quickly it left my hair with no body. Perhaps with thicker hair with some body it would work better. For me, using a hair dryer brush leaves my hair with much more body and smoother than this. The shine shot mode did not leave my hair as silky/shiny as my existing flat iron, and my hair actually looked healthier with it than this. Also it's heavy and clunky to use. I tried it a second time to see if it was just my inexperience but my hair still looked dead and lifeless so I returned it.

Not worth it for me
I think the value of this depends on what type of hair you have. I have medium length, naturally straight hair. I normally use a straightener to curl my hair after it is dry in the morning. I thought I could use this to both dry and curl my hair at the same time, but it did not work out for me. I cannot use this to curl my hair like I can a normal straightener. I can get a tiny curve at the ends, but that’s it. It does work to dry my hair, but for my straight hair, I think a normal blow dryer is faster and just as effective. I’m sure this is a lifesaver for some people, but for me, it is not worth the money.
