My 7 year old daughter decided to read this book, but it wasn't for her. Although it was full of facts that could educate her mind, she didn't enjoy it. So that is the reason for the rating. I'm sure others would have given it a higher rating.

The easiest way to describe this book is probably "QI for kids". There are fun illustrations, and a rather bouncy (the written version of children's TV presenters) style.There are some interesting factoids,and as you might expect from a "buster" book, it's all about busting myths.Overall, if you're expecting a QI-level of fascination and detail then you might be disappointed, but for youngsters who are interested in science, history, and maybe in proving their parents wrong now and again, you couldn't go far wrong. For a book aimed at children, there's actually a good level of detail and interest here.

Bought this for my 9 year old who loves books. He is a typical child and this book was perfect for him. Explains everything in a fun way and it's funny. Will keep him entertained but he can learn factual information in a fun way.Would recommend

This was bought for my 9 year old son for Christmas. Initially he was a bit dismissive but picked it up a couple of days after Christmas and is now finding it hard to put down. It does what is says in the summary - takes long-held beliefs or misconceptions and gives the truth behind them - about two pages per "fact" as far as I can see. It means that he can now rival his dad (who got given the QI book) in the "Did you know.....?" stakes! Written well enough for children to read and understand - but not over-simplified. A good find.

This came free and even as an adult I learned new things, that's why you never stop learning. Fascinating stuff and it made me smile, a great read, now I need to get on the QI television show!
