Throw away the old hand pump caulking gun!
I did! After using this tool, I thought I might keep my old hand pump caulking gun for backup. After the result and ease of this tool, it went into the metal recycling bin. Variable speed makes you look like a pro and there is even an onboard piercing tool. What a great tool!

great product
I just used mine when replacing all my baseboards and trim, and installing board and batten. It is a time saver and no hand cramping from hours of caulking. Run some practice strips at different speeds each time the caulk is replaced to get a feel for the flow for that particular cartridge. I used a near lowest setting and a small hole in the cartridge for most of the finer work and it comes out smooth, continuous, straight, and with little clean up. Turn it up for faster application for adhesive use. I wish I had one of these years ago.

Good product that will save my wrists on projects to come.
Seems to work well.

OK but found it hard to control the flow of adhesive.
Wrote this to help apply adhesive to my large glass panes for installation into their frames. Thought it would help ensure an even flow. Turned out, after several tries, that it was much easier to control the flow by hand and I stopped using it. It takes a while to 'get going' but then even at slow setting the output was faster than I wanted. So, good if you need to apply more than just a bit of material, not so great I found in more subtle situations.

Have you ever TRIED one of these? If so, I bet you've got one in your garage already!
I'm just a Harry Homeowner type of handyman, but I jump at any excuse to buy a new tool, and I was rebuilding my front porch and some woodwork around it, calling for a bit of caulking, so...It makes caulking so much easier it's almost fun. Not only is it nice not having to repeatedly squeeze a handle to pump the caulk out, but even nicer is not needing to simultaneously adjust the travel speed and direction in sync with the pumping. It is just SO much easier to lay down an even and continuous bead. And of course, you can control the extrusion speed with the trigger, and set a stop for the maximum feed rate where you want it.One annoying thing is that every time you release the trigger to stop the flow, the piston backs off a bit which causes a bit of lag between when you pull the trigger and when the flow starts. I got into the habit of poking the back of the pushrod against my stomach before restarting, to take the slack out.

Great for the lazy DIYer
This is my favorite child at the moment. I'm exactly handy enough to get myself into trouble, and while I CAN caulk (and do, if necessary), I've caught myself avoiding it because my weak self gets hand cramps from cranking the manual caulking gun. No more! I will say, start on 1. Seriously. Learn from my mistakes. Easy to maneuver and hold in place, doesn't seem to unduly drain the battery. Overall, very pleased that I can continue looking capable while secretly being lazy

When I took it out the box to use I found that the battery was not included. Why was this not stated " BROADLY " when I purchased it ? I would have ordered the battery at that time, The item is useless without a battery . Now I have to find out what type of battery & order it today .

RYOBI 18V ONE+ 10 Oz. Caulk and Adhesive Gun 18 VOLT
I bought this gem to do all the caulking on some new siding I was DIYing. The caulk I used was really hard to squeeze out of my old faithful hand squeeze gun. This Ryobi did the job much faster and easier than I expected. Great choice, especially if you already have Ryobi batteries. I’d definitely recommend for those big caulking jobs that you need to knock off the honey do list.
