Great product, fast customer service!
The timer was easy to setup and it was flawless all year. Unit was very sturdy, and never had issues the entire year. The physical button for manual watering was fantastic.I did have an issue with the unit in the second year, and reached out to rainpoint via their website. Their response was fast (sent on a Friday, got a response before end of day, responded and received a follow up on Monday, with a resolution by Wednesday). In all, my experience with the timer was great, and when I ran into an issue, their customer service was also great.

Very Happy Customer - Good product, good functionality, great customer service
I have really enjoyed having the RainPoint timer / water controller. It made a huge difference in keeping our yard looking fresh this past summer and provided flexibility well beyond 'set it and forget it' timers. With the bluetooth connectivity and straight forward interface, you always have full control. Flow rate does not appear to be affected by having the controller in line and the scheduling function is spot on. These things alone would lead me to providing a 5 start review. When I went to start using the controller this spring I noted that the unit had 'sprung' a leak. I reached out to RainPoint customer service via email and got a response within 24 hours. A couple of clear photos of the issue later and my replacement was on its way. I received it after a few days and I am back up and running.Great product, great service, this is the way it should work.

Works as advertised! Would buy again.
It took me a few minutes to figure out how to connect the devices to my wifi. The auto connect didn't work for me but it was very easy to connect manually. Once connected, everything worked great. This unit is used with the RainPoint app. The app is great because you can set multiple schedules, hit a button to turn on rain delay for either 24, 48, or 72 hours, and turn on manual. I love that you can set schedules based on time or how many gallons you want used. We go by time for our garden and it still shows me how many gallons we used at the last watering. 379 gallons! Yikes! Time to make some adjustments. I didn't know I was using that much and don't think I need that much. This unit will let me zero in on exactly how much to use so I can lower the water bill. Fantastic! Also fantastic... the app enables me to control the irrigation from inside the house. Who doesn't like control? LOL. It shows me when the next watering is and even the battery status. We've been using another RainPoint timer without wifi at home and at the community garden we operate and we have been very happy. The only problem I had was 100% my fault. Note - freezing water in winter and plastic do not play nicely together! :) Otherwise, the units work great. I think I'll add another one of these and some more irrigation to my landscape beds this fall. Pretty sure you can connect multiple devices to the app and run everything seamlessly.Oh, and I think the app does some other cool stuff too, like monitor soil temp and humidity. Of course you would need a soil sensor. I'll look into that next. Go ahead and get yourself one of these. I think you'll like it.

Great for DIY irrigation system! Water Hammer Arrestor might be needed!
Overall, the product works as it should. I am able to connect my sprinklers and set timers with multiple times and days and let it do the work for me. Set up is really simple however wifi set up was a pain for me, because this device only connects to 2.4 ghz and not 5ghz. I had to dig up an older wifi router just to connect the timer to my network. However, once connected, haven’t had any issues after.I wish the app had a widget so that I can easily access the manual function in case I want to run the sprinklers outside of my scheduled times. Finally, it is worth noting that when the timer is done and it shuts off, it’s an abrupt shut off rather than a slow close which caused the pipes to shutter due to the sudden change in water pressure. To remedy this, I’ve had to purchase a water hammer arrestor separately and attach it to my DIY irrigation system. I wish there was a way that the timer could physically slow down the shut off function to prevent potential damage to the pipes. All in all, I think it’s a great product aside from the minor issues mentioned.

Dependable and convenient
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Works as advertised. Connected easily to WiFi. Prior system used blue tooth to connect but was not convenient. This system is most convenient as you can control from any where. Have experienced no problems. Recommend!

Reliable and flexible watering with precision
I've owned two of these units for 2 years, and they have worked flawlessly where others have failed. I finally replaced the last traditional programmable valve with this purchase. As before, the setup was quick and easy. Since the device is Bluetooth only, you must have a gateway device to use. When adding this valve, be sure to use the Add Device option AFTER selecting the gateway, rather than on the Home screen. Also, be sure the gateway device is functioning properly before attempting to pair the valve. Bluetooth range is reliable, and covers at least 30 feet even through the exterior wall, but consider where you place the gateway to allow a reasonable distance to the valve. The water metering feature is helpful to accurately predict watering needs, and really helps with one of my use cases, where I use one of my valves to maintain our pool's water level. Knowing how much water you are adding in the hot summer months helps manage chemical demand and prevent accidental over-filling. This also makes it easy to keep up with pool levels if you are on vacation!
