This wire stripper is a delight to use. You can find similar products in UK shops, but none I've seen come close to the Klein build quality. The blades are much thicker than I'd imagined, and razor sharp. The curved handles get great reviews from US electricians in terms of comfort for all-day use.I don't think the AWG slot sizes are a problem for European wiring. The slots are quite finely graduated, and you just choose the one that fits best.As a hobby electronics tinkerer I'd wondered whether to get the version aimed at smaller wire diameters. But this one is a good compromise if you need to do mains or automotive wiring as well.I'm in two minds about the "automatic" type of wire stripper. Even the cheap ones can work well, but they are clunky and not very durable in my experience. This Klein stripper will outlive me.

Until now I have been buying a little set of draper wire strippers which have on average lasted me 6 months at a time before going blunt.Whilst this costs the same as 3 years worth of those little draper wire strippers I fear that it might become something of envy to others who would rather spend their wages on breakfast rolls than decent tools.It does everything it is designed to do and it does it very well. I have no idea why the handle is curved, I honestly haven't noticed any difference between using this type of handle and one that isn't.It's done what I've needed it to do every single time I've used it, what more can I say. Excellent purchase.

The Klein Tools wire stripper does cost more than most tools of this type. However, it is very good value simply because it is of high quality.On first handling the tool it had a "solid" strong and well engineered feel. The action is very smooth and there is no free play.Very happy with my purchase. I'll be looking out for Klein Tools (Made in USA) in the future.

Thought from the description these were the metric version. They are not they are strictly awg only. Fine for a lot of stuff though. Well made, sharp and seem to be staying that way.

A real quality piece of kit which looks like it will last a lifetime. Made in the USA and they know how to make a tool. You can buy something similar for a fiver and for a simple DIYer that’s probably good enough but if you value your tools this is what you want
