Love this book
Love this book. The absolutely gorgeous photos and delicious recipes do justice to the fabulous Laduree brand. Looking through the pages of this beautiful book brings back wonderful memories of sitting in the Laduree tea salon in Paris, sipping tea from an elegant fine China tea cup and indulging in the decadent desserts..

This book is beautiful, the paper is amazing quality, lovely images, I loved all the historical information and amazing recipes! Makes a great gift for anyone who is a fan of tea, laduree, or gorgeous table books!

Lovely book, but...
Let me start with the fact that the one thing I really liked about this book is that it covered the same recipes used in Laduree's tea rooms. By and large too, the recipes were good, even though a minimal amount of instruction was given. As an accomplished cook, this was not a problem for me, but I could easily see it being a problem for the average person.There was one thing that annoyed me though, and that was the omission of the breads used for their sandwiches. In fact, the grilled veggie sandwich recipe presented several problems. First, the recipe for the bread they use should be provided, as it's obviously an herbed loaf with plenty of piment d'espelette added, if you've had it at Laduree. Additionally, the ricotta mixture definitely had a typo, as the amount of arugula stated is an absurd amount. My husband attempted it, cutting the amount by two-thirds, and it still overwhelmed the spread as well as the sandwich. A real disappointment after broiling those vegetables and baking a loaf of bread with herbs and piment d'espelette.I tried several of the mini tartlets and the taramasalata one really surprised me. It was quite delicious and so different. I did opt to find a recipe in order to make my taramasalata to add to the tartlet recipe, which paid off. They should probably include a recipe for it, as it's not difficult to make.Anyways, outside my gripe about the grilled veggie sandwich, I really liked this book. It's not only functional, but absolutely beautiful, and would make a lovely gift. However, due to the sandwich recipe, I am knocking it down to four stars.
