Lasted nine months!
Stylish looking blender with a distinctive 'vintage' look, well made with a robust glass jug, that feels made to last. Blends well, with two speeds, but quite powerful action so haven't needed to use second speed. Only one slight drawback is glass jug is quite heavy, being fairly thick glass, so may not be suitable for someone with arthritis or any kind of weakness in hands, but other than this Ican't fault it.Update on blender from December 2015 - engine has blown after nine months of average use!Cannot contact Amazon as product details say no longer able to return, even though it is still under year's guarantee, it is impossible to contact them, no phone details and no e.mail address, veryfrustrating. Tried Benross Group who supplied the blender to Amazon and they said it was underAmazon guarantee and nothing to do with them - very, very angry that an expensive product has blown after less than a year and I have no way of getting a refund - shame on you Amazon formaking it impossible to contact you. New update! - finally got through to Amazon by searching number on Internet and found it through a newspaper that was dealing with complaints on how to contact Amazon. To help others numbers are 0800 496 1081 or 0870 744 9979. Lady on phone very helpful and polite and am able to send back for refund, but why oh why have I had to go through all this? Phone numbers should be printed at top of Amazon page and e.mail address. Get your act together Amazon. I would also say avoid this product as there seem to have been several complaints about it from other buyers, I shall be looking elsewhere, shame as it is very stylish, but sadly style over substances!

THIS PRODUCT IS POTENTIALLY LETHAL - AVOID IT
DO NOT BUY THIS! I have had one less than 3 months. In use just a week ago it suddenly stopped working and smelt of burning. When I unplugged it and investigated (having been leaning over it as you do in the process of making,on this occasion, a very gooey smoothie) when I poured out the smoothie along with it came the vicious looking blades and all of the lower fastenings. If these had gone upwards and not been confined in my smoothie ingredients this would have shot up and gone straight through the plastic lid and probably at least blinded me and at worst gone through my forehead killing me instantly!. I reported this to Unilever and they have done nothing. When I tried to follow up the silence was deafening. The shop it came from were no better. AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE it is clearly a production issue and needs to be recalled as another reviewer also mentions the blades being faulty and Unilever clearly don't care if someone is injured or killed. Buy any other brand, they don't deserve your custom or mine ever again and I am now boycotting everything Unilever. I would give it no stars in fact minus stars if that were possible.UPDATE: I wrote a personal letter to the CEO at Unilever he has never had the decency to even reply. Nothing has been done and this dreadful product is still on sale and as potentially dangerous as ever. It speaks volumes about these companies and what really think of customers. I will NEVER buy Unilever again, and that is right across the board. No more will I give them my business or money and I hope this company eventually gets what is deserved.
