Love this product for easy to use

I found this product much better than the cheaper meat slicer from the other brand because few reasons:1.) I don't have to cool the motor after 10 minutes continuous use.2.) can cut really well even the meat is almost 100% frozen.3.) The handle to push the meat down in place works quite ok.4.) Not a problem with a block of meat, around 4 inches thick.Although it is not super easy to clean the blade, but overall is almost perfect for this price. I might get this product back if I found the other product cost over $300+ does not score perfect 5 stars.I did return the product only because I was protesting Amazon for not posting my reviews (even Amazon gave me ranking).

Versatile and good quality

I bought this for cutting homemade sourdough bread and it cuts through the thick crust with ease. The quality is high and it folds up easily for storage in a cabinet, which is good since it's more functional than designed for show. Using it saves a lot of bread since it can be easily frozen and thawed out. I'm shocked however to see that the price increased more than three times since I paid less than $100 for it in February 2024. Inflation?

A decent home use slicer

It's Apr 2024 and I've used this slicer for over a year now, approximately once a month for around 15 total pounds of assorted meat and cheese each time. It has held up well over this period, with only a few flaws.1. It seems that sharpening these circular blades is difficult at best. In the year that I've used it the blade is still pretty sharp, but it will need a touch up at some point. There is a well-known company here that gets a lot of business from many of the local restaurants sharpening the regular knives that are used. This company won't touch the circular blade. I checked at a local deli, and they have a mail away service for their slicers. I don't think it's something the average consumer is going to tackle. A new blade is around $30.2. Cleaning the unit is straightforward but does require a little extra attention when you remove the blade. There isn't a great way to hold the blade while you wash it by hand.3. The rubber feet on the bottom don't really hold it in place on the kitchen counter. It doesn't move around a lot but does slowly shift to the side. The sharpening issue is the big deal, the other two points are pretty minor. Buying a slicer with a built-in sharpener gets over $300 pretty quickly, which is more than I'm willing to spend. Otherwise, it is unbroken and ready to use every time without fail.Edit Aug 2024 - The slicer is still working fine. However, the food carriage lock button (black rectangle that says Slice/ Lock/ Remove) has fallen off and I'm unable to put it back on. Maybe a drop of glue would hold it, but I'm concerned that the glue would spread and stick the lock in one place. I can use the tip of a ballpoint pen to move the lock, but it's somewhat inconvenient. I'll leave my rating at 4 stars, but build quality is suspect.

Great slicer

This is a great slicer for the money. So far I've used on about 10 lbs of jerky meat, and 5 lbs of homemade bacon. Pretty quiet and slices quickly and evenly. Setting 5 for jerky and setting 4 for bacon was perfect thickness for us. Cleanup doesn't take long. I also ordered a non-serrated blade, but the serrated one cuts just fine so haven't put on the smooth one yet. I'm happy with my purchase.

Simple to use, light weight, perfect for apartment use

I had to choose between this and the the Beswood 10" Premium Chromium-plated Carbon Steel Blade Electric Deli Meat Cheese Food Slicer. Due to its price I bought the Chef's Choice slicer. It is a bit small and light weight. I have used it and and it works really good. Slicing a 10 lb turkey, the machine has a bit difficulty cutting very thin slices. you need to push down hard enough to make enough contact between the blade and the pushing tray. It did the job but I was not convinced its worth. I ordered the Beswood 10 the next day to compare. Though the Beswood 10 costs twice as much, it also performs much better. Since I don't have storage problem in my kitchen, I keep the Beswood and return the Chef's Choice. I want to say the Chef's Choice is an excellent machine. My decision was more of a personal preference. I like the Beswood due it its weight and ease on pressing down the meat as you slice. If you live in a small apartment and you need to tuck away your appliances, the Chef's Choice would be the perfect machine to own.

WOW !

Totally impressed. This thing ROCKS. Sliced up a pork tenderloin. it can be sliced thinner than paper, or up to 3/4 inch slices. In the photo, you can see how much I was able to slice. The dogs were very disappointed it slice to the very end. I did order the "smooth" blade, extra. But, with the serrated blade that comes standard, it did a GREAT job. Very happy, easy to use, easy to clean. The wife loves it. If you slice a little slower, it eliminates the "tail" and cuts all the way to the end of the product being slice. Would DEFINITELY recommend ! :-)
