World-famous Artists Kokeshi Japanese Dolls by Lucie Kaas - 5.7 inches - Schima Superba Wood - Made in Denmark (Mondrian)

I have a few of these from a famous museum's gift shop and have given some as gifts to my friends in the arts and design industry. There are many more personalities to choose from this artists creations, so I gifted some this year and added Frida to my own collection.

Huge Mondrian fan and this was a perfect touch to my modern home!!

Everything was great

This doll was a lot larger than I imagined it would be. I was picturing 2-3". This is more like 6-7". It's great that an artist who isn't a standard art doll subject is represented. This one captures the clean lines and bright, mostly primary, colors Mondrian's work portrays. Mondrian's artistic style is a perfect match for the simple lines of a kokeshi. The details on this doll are well-executed. It will be a fun "spirit animal" to inspire my own artistic (photographic) creations. It is pricey though - I saw the same figurine in some modern art museums' gift shops for about $10 less post purchase. So that's something for other potential purchasers to consider. Wish I hadn't spent that extra $10...
