Very quiet and convenient which is why I bought this. Had a tough time using the closer attachments on a Yorkshire puppy. Granted his coat is a little coarse and wiry and worked mostly OK on his back and sides until I switched to the lowest attachment.The problem is the cutter seems to get clogged fairly quickly with the really fine fur underneath. Had to remove the spacer attachment to trim the back of his neck and top of his head even though the hair was long enough to need the 3mm spacer. Without the spacer wasn't an even cut but definitely better than the shaggy look. At least for this breed this is a touch up tool and not a haircut that I would want in a picture (Possibly with a little more practice?) On a side note, there's nothing at all in the manual about how to use the trimmer to get the best results. On a positive note, worth the relatively low cost and is an ideal (very quiet) trimmer to get a puppy used to a more powerful and probably louder trimmer.

I would without a doubt recommend this to anyone with cats or dogs with long hair hair, for reference I would say that my baby girl Zara had very thick hair that was around 2 half inch and it cut it off with ease.

I bought these as my large domestic housecat gets little tufty dreadlocks on her back. They are not too noisy, they make a humming / scissory kind of sound which didn't seem to scare my cat. I turned them on, approached her, and let her enquire, sniff etc. The blades seem to be OK and cut the fur well. They came with some charge as well. I shaved the cat on the 2mm setting which left a really nice, soft bed of fur behind like velvet.

These clippers work really well on our long haired cat. She even purrs sometimes when I'm grooming her - and she runs for the hills the minute the hoover comes out, doesn't like loud noises. The charge lasts a long time, too. My only draw back is the plastic waste in the different sized combs, but I understand that for more advanced users, they would be useful.

Just used it and cut our Yorkies hair well. It's as good as the last one I bought, which has now burnt out, and was a lot more expensive, if not better.

Poor cutting performance.Only ever used them once.Resorted to scissors.
