Good sound quality. Does most of what the android Google assistant does
We're cutting back on our streaming services and since YouTube premium also has YouTube music included we dropped our Amazon music package, which more than paid for this smart speaker. Sound is very good, no complaints. It "hears" you very well even if you are in another room. Obviously this is all tied into Google Assistant /Gemini AI like you would have on your Android phone. The timer function has a sense of humor. If you ask it to set a 10 minute chicken timer. You'll get a chicken squawking when the timer is done. The cookie timer also has a fun and amusing end of timer announcement as does the pasta timer.

Good bass, functionally and quality!
Very good! I like it! Has a lot of bass for a relatively inexpensive speaker. Pairs nicely with other nest speakers.

For the money an excellent speaker
This speaker, according to measurements posted at Audio Science Review and my ears, is excellent. It does not do low bass well, dropping off at a bit below 100 Hz, but is as flat as a speaker can get for the rest of the range of human hearing. People who complain of the lack of low bass have unreasonable expectations for a speaker with a 3" low frequency driver. This is an excellent bedside speaker. I find the "smart" functions to be less obtrusive than the other major brand of smart speakers. The Chromecast function means that you can use any number of mobile devices to play a variety of music through it wirelessly including music that you own as well as streaming services like Quboz that are only supported by Bluetooth on the other brand. The cons are the lack of a wired audio input and that it's a Google product, but the other major brand has similar problems with data mining. If you're willing to put up with that, I think you'll enjoy this speaker.

Makes bedtime easy
My partner and I put this in our bedroom, on the headboard. Makes bedtime a breeze. It can control the lights (generic smart switch), the fan (Dreo), and the humidifier (Dreo). Voice (de)activation makes things very easy for going to bed and waking up!Small complaint about casting music to it. YouTube is very selective about which things it will cast to the speaker. Pandora seems to work ok with it. But this isn't the speaker's fault, I feel.Thinking about getting another for the living room.

These sound great
I was a bit nervous ordering speakers that I hadn't gotten a chance to touch/feel/love. Setup was a little difficult at first, but once I got the hang of what I needed to do, I was able to factory reset and get them configured the way I wanted on the home network I wanted. There's a function to group the speakers for a better quality sound and to have that group of speakers act as the default playback unit. Hollering for Google to turn on lights and such is just as good and now can happen in any room of our house. Pairing these is just as good as the Alexa powered product. The only thing that the Google speakers don't seem to have is the built-in Zigbee controller like Alexa products. I imagine my network will get a little crowded with the Google speaker products and wifi switches and outlets, but I'll deal with that if/when it happens. All around a decent speaker when purchased in pairs.

Don't waste your money
This won't stay connected to my wifi. I had to keep linking it and finally gave up. Not nearly as useful or dependable as my Alexa dot 5th generation, and the dot is much cheaper and has the same sound quality
