I am compiling a Bug Out Bag [BOB] for every family car. I included these as a key component.My thoughts: expecting [or just hoping] that others will come to your rescue during a natural disaster like flood, hurricane, or a forest fire, or even just a stranded auto ... is not enough. YOUR survival is YOUR responsibility. While putting these BOB's in every car might not be the best location, having them ready is the first step, knowing where they are located is the second step. Hint: I actually plan to store each in a water-resistant plastic ammo box ["Plano"], that includes all items ... plus a small backpack for easy "no hands" carrying.Dave@Texas

Survival blankets aren't anything new to sing about; however i did open it up length wise to see how tall it is. Glad to say its around 6ft, durable not going to tear since i tried to. The main reason I bought this was to show off my outdoor prowess when i go camping in a few weeks. However ! I didn't find any instructions, and had 0 experience with this.After doing some research; whenever looking for a magnesium striker its best to look for one rated a modest or low 5000 strikes, this however is at 16000 strikes. I personally tried to scrape as much as possible off then making sparks. Well, its going to take a while before you accumulate enough magnesium dust, and must "strike" the rod pretty hard to see noticeable sparks. Overall, I hope to fully test it give a better review. lost a star for no instructions!

I liked this product because it was a 5-pack. I could easily keep an emergency survival blanket in multiple cars or throw one in a bag when going on a hike. The bonus fire starter with compass was a nice addition.

These are great to keep in your pocket when rain is possible. The just open the package and you will stay dry.

Takes almost no room in your pack. Keeps the heat in. Crinkly as can be expected but it'll keep you warm inside.

These are just like the regular survival blankets I was looking for. I have them in my car just in case.

TG I haven't had to use these, however living in NY , this is an essential! They came in a timely manner, nicely packaged and are a must have if the car breaks down in the winter. As well for any survival type situation. Many of my friends were not aware these were so affordable and available, they want them also. Thank You to the Seller. P.S. The 4 stars is ONLY to be honest , as I said I have not , fortunately , had to use them. So I cannot speak to if they work well in the formentioned situations'.
