The Twilight Saga: New Moon [Blu-ray]

If you're going to watch one you've got to watch them all!
First off the Twilight books were ten thousand times better than the movies but I do get drawn in to the whole vampire thing with this series. It helps that the Cullen's, the vampire family, are classy, drive very nice vehicles and live in a gorgeous house and wear beautiful clothes and look perfect all of the time. They make the vampire life look glamorous! This is just the first movie so we haven't even really seen their beauty and style yet but you will if you watch the series. It should be noted that the actress who plays Bella is so bad that I don't know why they cast her in this role at all. Her voice has no inflection, never changes in any way, not even when she's supposed to be devastated at the thought of Edward Cullen leaving her for her own safety. These two are supposed to be inextricably bound to one another with an unrequited sexual attraction that is all consuming and she's like a dead fish in this movie. Edward Cullen is gorgeous and was cast perfectly for this role and at the end of this movie it will leave you with the desire to watch the next one. The vampire story is extensive creative and in depth and is well worth watching the whole series. If you get a chance read the books, I promise you won't be able to put them down!

Absolutely terrible, but in a good way.
I rated this a 3 out of 5 because out of the first three movies, this is the worst due to choices made to extend some scenes out that were unnecessarily long and then extremely fast plot skips that were too jarring and I got lost the first watch through.Part 2 of the Twilight saga focuses on character development of Jacob and Bella without Edward aka act 2. There isn't really much going on in terms of plot, but rather a sea of the same type of emotions. After an incident with a paper cut on Bella's birthday at the Cullins house, two of the family members cannot help their instincts regarding the smell of her blood. Edward claims they have to move towns immediately because people are questioning Carlisle's lack of aging, but we all know it's because of the incident.Edward tells Bella he doesn't truly care about her, Bella knows it's a lie, we the audience know it's a lie, but it's for her protection. Bella enters a deep depression due to requited love and has a series of nightmares. This is the most believable part if you have teenagers yourself or think back to your own teen years after being rejected or dumped with emotions and hormones out of control.Bella tries to get out of her depression and starts hanging out with her friends group again to include a night out. She feels the need to put herself in harms way and starts seeing illusions or manifestations of Edward telling her to turn back. She decides to start hanging with Jacob on the reservation and repair some motorbikes so she can get that adrenaline rush again. While hanging with Bella, Jacob keeps getting 'friendzoned' and commenting that the other guys are in this weird almost cult because of their hair being cut and new tattoos. This part of the movie is painfully slow and drawn out.Jacob isn't Bella's only contender. In addition Mike from school asks Bella out to a movie and she asks if everyone wants to come. It ends of just being Bella, Mike, and Jacob and I laughed at the uncomfortableness of her seated between the two guys who both want to hold her hand at the movie theater. And FINALLY this is where the movie starts to pick up. After this LONG drawn out beginning, we see Victoria and Laureant are still hunting Bella and some GCI werewolves that I'm sure were great graphics in 2009, but not in the 2020's.The movie starts to have some painfully slow scenes yet again with Jacob at the reservation to explain his transformation to a werewolf interspersed with some fast action.Bella is STILL suicidal and wanting adrenaline and jumps off one of the cliffs into the water and is chased by Victoria in the water. She is saved by Jacob, but Alice with her visions only sees her jump off the cliff and believes she has died.We come to find out that the werewolves block Alice's visions and the Cullins thought she was dead. This part of the movie must have cut something from the books and I wish they added more here rather than 15 minutes of Bella being depressed in the beginning or this long drawn out scenes with Jacob fixing bikes because all of a sudden it's 'we're in Italy to save Edward'. I actually went back a few scenes to ensure I didn't miss it and yeah, I didn't.We get to meet the Volturi and Michael Sheen here is a gem. I can't say the same for the other Volturi, but Sheen here makes this entire exchange worthwhile and managed to remove whole swathes of cheesiness. A few good fight scenes occur. We find out Bella is someone 'very' special and immune to a lot of the vampires special abilities and they spare here on the condition she is 'turned'. The Volturi also treasure Edward and Alice's special abilities as well. The eye rolling part of this moving is the ending. The love triangle isn't over. Jacob loves Bella, Bella also loves Jacob, but loves Edward more. Jacob tells Bella if she turns, the Cullins forfeit their truce with the werewolves setting us up for the next movie. Oh yeah, and Edward want to marry Bella and will turn her on that condition only. I rolled my eyes and threw the remote at that last part. I'm not sure it could have been directed or acted better given the source material they are dealing with.Well, I look forward to seeing part 3 in this never-ending parade of cheesy teen romance. I had my fair share of really bad teen movies in the 90's, so this series fits in just perfectly for the next generation.

It's About Eternal Love
This movie is a well blue-printed saga of romantic love. In "The Twilight Saga: New Moon", the binary dream realms and kingdoms are real, and the fabled chimaera and reverie destinations make bold borders of poetic dreams. In the wake of Bella(Kristin Stewart) and Edward's dynamic circumstances and super-refined passions, "New Moon's" background stories exert their dexterity over unchallenging straight distances. The abrupt ending of Bella and Edward's relationship is an extra dimensional cornered shape. In the Cullen's home Dr. Carlisle Cullen(Peter Facinelli) explains to Bella that he has always wanted to help people, despite the fact that he isn't human. As an exceptional care giver and father to a brood of vampires, his devotion is a superlative emulsion of collected wisdoms from sacrifice. Bella's unalterable love is of a sense significant; a shaded permeating mystery greater than that of Edward's heritage, or of Jake's challenged attitude. There is the contrivance of one group versus the ideals of another clan, and of strange rites, opposing laterally. Bella expresses a belief that both Edward and Jake(Taylor Lautner) are valued beyond this feud because of their chivalrous goodness. As in the first 'Twilight' film, the invisible intensities over-stencil the moods in the Forks High School cafeteria and in Bella's truck where Bella and Edward exchange and articulate emotions bourne from over-lording states. Bella's lip folding broodingness and swept back bangs of dark hair pivot these spheres. Bella exists for Edward's survival as well as for Jake's. The second half of the movie is where the themes having been fixed in, now "Twilight: New Moon" has elements in place to go forward in schemes. These fantastical lives and well realized romance poetries lend themselves to deft plot twists. When we think Bella has found rejuvenation and comfort in Jake, the Volturi vampire family is projecting and set abreast a further post. Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattinson have endowed fringe lovers in light weaved swirl goth tales with a sententious respect and defined new graces to trace. Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Anna Kendrick, Nikki Reed, and Billy Burke, as well as being gorgeous, meld a translucent alien realm to neophyte social networks seamlessly.

new moon - new fan
This is the second film based on the books by Stephanie Meyer - New Moon - and it is definitely the Team Jacob film with Edward and the Cullen's appearing significantly less in this film than in the previous ones.Continuing on where the first film ended follows the romantic entanglements of Bella Swan with vampire Edward Cullen. This film features more of Bella's relationship with local boy and childhood friend Jacob Black.Once again I have to confess that I came to the film without reading the book, in fact I watched Twilight and New Moon back to back in the hopes that it would help me understand what was going on. I have just finished Twilight and am about to start New Moon (the book) - Twilight having filled in so many gaps which the first film left me with I hope the New Moon will do the same. For example: I don't understand is why Jasper would kick off at a drop of blood when at the end of the first film pints were gushing from a severed artery and it had no effect what so ever - but I'm new to this series and from what I see I'm sure that someone from the great fan community will be able to explain the why. This is one of those times when it is extremely important you read the book in order to understand the characters and their backgrounds. So much is left out that for those, like me, who came to the series with no knowledge of the background the films can seem disjointed. Once the books have been consumed the whole story becomes clearer, therefore, I recommend to anyone who has not already read the books that you do so - it makes the films much, much clearer.I have to admit that I'm with the people who are questioning the change of Director between films - and it wasn't just the association with Twilight as I always question a change of director in a series of films. One thing Chris Weitz did was bring out the best in Kirsten Stewart (Bella) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob). Miss Stewart finally came across as something other than the vacuous, sulky teenage brat and was able to portray the deeper desire and obsession with Edward that was missing from the first film. Unfortunately for Mr Lautner his part in the first film was minimal and did not show off his great acting talent.Michael Sheen is superbly (and charmingly) creepy as the head of the elite Italian vampire family.I thank the people at Amazon for getting this out to me for Saturday before the official release at midnight on Sunday; I've spent the last 36 hours watching the film, film with commentary (how about commentary from the actors next time - note to Mr Weitz: keep your hands off other people's burgers)This was a great follow up to Twilight and I look forward to reading the next book and watching the next film.--- for information ----Language options - English onlySubtitles - English onlyRunning Time - 127 minutes New Moon

amazing love story
What can I say about Twilight? I've never bothered much to read the books,or watch the movies for that matter, but I saw girls/women around me in awe about this. Edward this, Edward that, Robert Pattinson here and there. So after watching Vampire Diaries I got curious and started watching Twilight. Within 20 minutes I was hooked. Can't let go anymore, ordered the books, ordered all the movies there are and following everything now very closely.Feel a little embarrassed because I'm a 35 y/o woman that is totally hooked on the characters (book as wel as the people portraying them on screen) and keep rewatching over and over and over again. I actually feel a bit empty inside when I'm done watching, so I start from the beginning again haha!I love the story, the special effects in the movie, it's just such a great big love. You shouldn't overthink it all too much. I know people are saying well how stupid is that, she has to die in order to be with him, he is too protective and overbearing. But don't look at that. Look at why she wants to become a vampire and why he acts around her the way he does. It's their love. And that love is amazing and I would wish for everybody in the world. So read the books, watch the movies. You'll have a lovestory for life :)

What Happened!!!!!
I have read the books and admit the first film was good, well fillmed and directed, it flowed and the soundtrack fitted but I think changing the director has killed 'New Moon'. The visuals felt amaturish and could have been filmed on cheap camcorders, the atmosphere of a wet and miserable town had gone, the story just didn't flow right for me as there just seemed to be no emotion there (fair enough some of that is down to acting but some are down to what has been written in the script) and key elements had been written out (or more likely ended up on the editing room floor), as for the soundtrack, it just didn't go, every peice that was picked just clashed and I found it a distraction, for this I watched it a second time with the sound off and the subtitles on and that improved it slightly but really it is no way to enjoy a film.I just hope that they bring back Catherine Hardwicke to direct the remaining films

Great film, excellent in HD.
Just like the first Twilight this is an excellent movie, it's similar to the book, but it doesn't follow it completely. If you've read the book and like the story then this is a good companion to it and I highly recommend watching the film, watch all of the films released so far (I recently watched Eclipse in the cinema and it was great) as even though they aren't carbon copies of the books they are still wonderful movies in their own right.Just like Twilight this looks excellent in HD, I haven't seen the DVD of New Moon to compare it to the Bluray, but if the DVD of New Moon is similar to the DVD of Twilight then it is worth getting the Bluray if you have a Bluray player.I loved this movie, enjoyed the book and I'm hooked on the Twilight Saga.

Seller service: Great! Actual film: Pants!!
Seller service was absolutely fine. No problems. The actual film however was almost as annoying as the book! Talk about bad acting! Everyone takes so long to say their lines. I was a big Twilight fan when I bought this and had seen it at the cinema so it's not a surprise - I have only bought this as a fan for the collection/addiction (I'm ashamed to admit) as I have to finish what I started! If you've not read/seen Twilight before then it's a good brainless story but it's a teen book/movie and it can be addictive - just keep that in mind. "Team Cullen!"
