This was dark golden brown......but my hair is almost black! There is definitely nothing golden about this colour. So I would not recommend this unless you are looking for black.

I have no complaints or issues regarding the seller. The item was dispatched swiftly and arrived damage free.As this is a well known brand I wouldn’t expect there to be issues of any kind and there weren’t. The colour is true to the display & guide on the box. I have a silver stripe at the front of my hair and it has covered it perfectly. Longevity is a difficult one to answer as (1) I only used it a couple of days ago and (2) I think the results are always going to vary from person to person. Overall I am satisfied with it.

I started using these dyes as I became sensitive to the ppd in regular box dyes. At first I thought these were amazing but they aren’t! Over time they absolutely wrecked my hair. I wasn’t dying over the already dyes parts only doing my roots. Made my hair dry and brittle. I was shedding so much hair and it destroyed my natural curl pattern. I’ve stopped using and had a nightmare trying to get my hair looking and feeling better! Be warned these dyes will not strip out with colour remover either! I had to cut my hair, bleach bath and highlight my hair to blend it so I could just grow in my natural hair colour without looking mental. It’s been a long process but my curls are finally back and my hair has got thick again. So be warned!! The photo of me with black hair is when my hair is dyed with this dye. The second photo is now I’ve managed to get it back to being healthy. You can see the difference in my curl pattern and how dry and lacklustre my hair was from the dye!

This used to be my 'go to' hair dye (about 20 years ago) but it is not how I remember it.It did go on easily, instructions clear etc so nothing to complain about there.But ultimately, going for an extra light cool blonde, I wanted a dye that would definitely NOT have any red or brassy tones to the colour. It claims 'brass free blondes' but judging from the colour of my hair now, especially at the roots, I would suggest this is not true!!Also, it has been very harsh on the condition of my hair. (Half expected that, though, as it's the nature of dying your own hair at home).I totally get that home dye is a bit pot luck, but disappointed with this and will definitely not be using it again.

I've never used Clariol hair dye before, and seeing the price I couldn't resist giving it a go. I did the usual patch test and was good to go.Mixing is super easy, and application was perfect. The opening of the bottle is a great size, it doesn't let too much out, but lets the perfect amount out (you know the struggle when it gives you the tiniest little dribbles!)One bottle was enough for half a head of hair on waist-length, THICK hair to be fully saturated, and the smell was divine! Washing it out was OK as far as washing out dye goes - there were some stubborn bits that I had to use a warmer temperature water for, but this isn't uncommon.The colour after is gorgeous, the perfect blue-black. It looks black until you're under light or the sun, then gorgeous blue tones show themselves. I'll definitely buy this again when the colour begins to fade!

Hi, for all my fellow natural redheads who are having grey (white really) hair pop through ... this review is for you! As we know,most hair dyes steer clear of us natural redheads so buying dye is a guessing game. Well I took the plunge with this auburn 5R and am delighted. Easy and quick to use, hid my white hairs and enhanced my Auburn but naturally so. It just looks and feels healthier. So pleased, I now have this on bi monthly re ordering, just in case I forget. Not seen how long it lasts yet but no nasty smell and no adverse reaction, definitely will use again!

I normally use professional colourants bought by hairdressers even though I colour my hair myself, I haven't bought a box dye for ages, but I thought I'd try one again. I really don't think box dyes are good for your hair, this one made my hair look frazzled which never happens with majirel or xp100. The colour is pretty awful (medium auburn), it's orangey and brassy with no depth of tone or softness. I wouldn't recommend using box colour I think it's better to either visit a hair salon or buy the same products that hairdressers use which are easily found online or at a hair supply store.

5g Medium Golden Brown is very good and looks natural, I have dark brown hair and found that this gave my hair a pretty glow. I have been using 4rb but wanted to go a little more towards my normal colour.
