BarbieDolls of the World French Collector Doll 1996

I’m so pleased Barbie has dolls with different disabilities, and the dolls are still beautiful! She’s so cute! I wish this series was around when I was little- it might have helped me feel more confident and valuable. I had no reason to purchase this doll- I don’t have children, and my nieces & nephews have out grown dolls. But she here for my great nieces and nephews.

Thank you barbie company for including a variety of Barbies for our kiddos! I was super stoked when I come across the down syndrome Barbie. Have a 5-year-old daughter with down syndrome so of course I had to purchase. It's not her favorite barbie (she loves the Barbies with long hair) but we support barbie in this household!

Got this for my 10 year old daughter who has Down Syndrome and it’s just beautiful and a great doll! Very nice to be included. Great buy and quality Barbie! :)

Short version: Nice alternate Barbie: a bit shorter than the iconic version; "curvy" (wider hips, thicker legs, smaller bust); modified facial features (wider-set eyes with a slight slant, and boxy jaw) but not really much like a person with Down's; FLAT FEET (not tip-toe posed for high heels)! She is great.Long version: My daughter wanted a "doctor" Barbie for her 4th birthday. All I could find were two different pediatrician versions (eyeroll), so, so be it. But once I got it, I was reminded of all I dislike about Barbie. Desperately thin, ridiculous bust-waist-hip proportions, feet stuck in tip-toe position to wear high heels - UGH. I really didn't want my daughter idolizing this thing. Luckily, I had a vague memory that Mattel had made a "fat Barbie" at some time, so I went looking, thinking maybe I'd find one on eBay. I was happily amazed to find the "Fashionistas" series with quite a few options - good on you, Mattel!!As for this "Down's syndrome" doll - just know that the facial features are only vaguely bordering on Down's. Basically, the eyes are a bit wider apart, very slightly slanted, and the jaw is boxy. She looks VERY much like my little one, who does not have Down's. So that's maybe a fail for the doll's purpose, but on the other hand, she is versatile as just a different-looking Barbie. I love her and so does my little one.

She doesn't really have the same face as her promo, but hardly any barbie does. She's still really beautiful and I'm keeping her. She's worth the money 🫡

OK, that headline sounds a little weird since we're talking about a doll. LOL! I got this one to use as a body swap for a doll head from a different company, but the Made-to-Move doll actually came with a super pretty face. The body's posing is excellent. I just wish Mattel would start giving Barbies normal-sized feet for once instead of those ultra-tiny feet they always give them. Still, it's a very nice doll.

The media could not be loaded. I love that there is a Barbie that has a prosthetic and omggg my daughter who wears a prosthetic really loves it. She was ready for her doll to do everything with her

My granddaughters hero is Terry Fox. She loves the Barbie.
