Pacsafe_85 and Pacsafe_120 work 20130128
Just spent about 30 days in Argentina. Needed a way to secure stuff when out-of-sight. The Pacsafe 85 and the 120 did the job by allowing the backpack with a laptop, tablet, and other stuff including travel documents to be secure. The lock was a problem. Multiple keys would open. Sometimes it would stick. This did not offset the VALUE of PEACE of MIND offered. The mesh holes were large so it would be possible to wiggle out stuff the size of a passport. This was solved by using a combination of products: Pacsafe CamSafe 200 Camera Shoulder Bag; Pacsafe Luggage Venturesafe 150 Fanny Pack; Pacsafe Luggage Travelsafe 12l Climbing Pack; and Pacsafe Luggage Venturesafe 32l Travel Backpack. One would think the weight would be an issue; however, the safety offered was well worth the additional weight. There was one factor that we think where "bulk" made the difference. There was actually no unmoveable/unliftable object available to strap the Pacsafe 85 or 120. The awkward shape of all the stuff crammed into the 85 and 120 that were wired together would make an unnoticed theft somewhat less possible. The small objects like passport and currency were put into the 121 Climbing Pack including the 150 Fanny Pack. The 32L Backpack and the Climbing Pack were put into the 120 wire cage along with the 200 camera bag. Then the other 32L backpack and another 121 Climbing Pack were stuffed into the 85 wire cage. Then the 120 and the 85 were wired together and sometimes connected with one or two of the available pacsafe padlocks.None of our stuff ever got bothered. And surprisingly, with a little practice, we could pack our stuff easily and quickly and also unpack our stuff just as easily and quickly. This combination of items is great and will travel with us to asia and europe and where ever else our adventures take us.The only pacsafe item that was an RPIA and I'm still not sure how to effectively use it is the camera strap (Pacsafe Carrysafe 200 Shoulder Strap). It was very bulky and made shooting pictures almost impossible. The strap would not fit on one camera because the connector was way to bulky and we could not find anything during travel to connect the Sony to the strap. The Nikon had triangle shapped connectors that worked with the strap. I had to remove the strap when shooting!

Peace of mind
Went to India and stayed at places where the door was "secured" by a simple padlock. AND we went to places that didn't allow you to bring bags in our cameras. So, we had to leave it in the hotel room. There were sometimes we had to check out early and left our bags with the front desk...which meant leaving it in a small broom closet off to the side.Travelled in the trains for rides lasting 20 hours overnight when we had to sleep and run to the bathroom. The bag protector gave me a little more peace of mind because well, if a thief had to choose between my bag or my friends' unprotected bags....I'm pretty sure the thief would be leaving my bag alone.Of course, a thief who REALLY wants to get into my bag will. But most of the crimes I was worried about are usually crimes of opportunity. And the bag protector sure did take away a lot of opportunity.NOTE: I used a rain protector on my pack before I put on the mesh steel. The holes on the mesh are large enough that a person can open zippers on your bag and reach through. You secure the bag by wrapping a wire around something secure and it is locked with a keyed padlock.

Order the 55L or the 85L?
I didn't know whether to order the 55L or the 85L, so I ordered both to choose from. I want a pacsafe that will fit my motorcycle full face helmet and tech jacket, and standard backpack (to lock to my bike). The 55L only fits the backpack (I could put my jacket in the backpack). In the 85L I was able to fit all 3 items comfortably. This is just what I needed, and it is just over 1-pound to carry.

Great 10 years ago and loved to have found netting again!!
Used on a decade ago while backpacking Europe and when decided to start traveling random places again it was among first thoughts to seek another out. Was happy to find.Opened it, fiddled with it, and again it's satisfying. The size this big is going to be weighty, don't be surprised, but it's not terrible once you consider the size pack it needs to cover and the fact that it's a part of how sturdy it's made.Very good quality but sizing is an issue I found today. Previously I'd opened it and as said, fiddled with it, to make sure it was the same quality as in the past and there were no defects. It absolutely was made great. But I just tried to put in on my filled pack today as a dry-run for my upcoming trip. This is an 85L cover, my pack is a 65L... No matter what I did I could not get this thing to cover it. I even removed some of my top items down by about a liter, maybe a tad more, and this still only came to around 2/3 - 3/4 of my pack.Am now buying a 120L to make sure it covers completely and, assuming it does as that size should be well over enough!, any extra items I may find a need to secure.

Molto utile

This mesh just slips over the top and padlocks nicely. Yes
This cost more than my bag and a fair amount of the contents - but I believe it is worth it.You can padlock the zips of your backpack to your heart's content, but all someone needs is a pair of scissors and they're in. This mesh just slips over the top and padlocks nicely. Yes, if someone is determined they could sneak their hands through the mesh and start snipping away at your bag - but I like to think it would take too much effort for a thief to do that. It is possible to get it back into its little case, but to be honest it lives wrapped around my big bag.
