ProSpot Fitness HG-6 Home Gym

Everyone needs to look closely at the other reviewers. Each one of them is from ProSpot Fitness. I'll bet they all get a cut of the profit received from the sale of one of these junk gyms!

I'm a real person and actually own and have used this machine for a few years now. I like it. It is better built than most home gym equipment. The steel is solid and heavy duty enough for its purpose. All the cables run smooth and work well. They are not as smooth as commercial machines found at gyms so I did find it took a small period of time to not notice the small difference. The 400 pounds of weight stacks are nice but you should know when you do a movement that uses the center pulleys, the weight is cut in half. So the max leg press you can do is 200 pounds which is not enough for most people. The bench is nice and solid but because it is designed to glide on a track when not locked, it doesn't have a decline position when using free weights or dumbbells.

Actually lucked out and found my Prospot on Craigslist. The individual selling did not have the time to utilize so sold it in like new condition for a song. Self spotting smith machine without the limitations of the bar riding on some track so mimics the feel of a free-weight bar. Twin 200 lbs. stacks with height adjustment pulley system. You can even perform assisted pull-ups and dips with ease. A complete gym in one QUALITY unit. I don't use the bench because we have other equipment for the various exercises it allows but I can tell you it too is extremely heavy duty (on wheels that have a built-in brake system that engages when you sit on it), an amazingly versatile addition.

I had an equivalent earlier machine from Pro-Spot. There is nothing like ProSpot's Grab and Go for the athlete needing to perform heavy, full range of movement exercises. I used the Grab and Go feature mostly for squats and various heavy presses while alone and training for power lifting competitions. For me, a Smith machine just would not work for those movements. The ProSpot allowed me to workout with much higher intensity than I could possibly perform without an experienced spotter or two. I also found the machine to be very consistent and reliable. As such I was able to make the best progress I have ever made while training at home and many fewer injuries. The only failure I had in 4 years was a blown power supply, caused by extreme static electricity on my rubber workout floor during the winter. A service technician promptly replaced the unit at no cost to me. Yes, there are cheaper fitness systems for home use on the market but they just don't do what a ProSpot does. Strength athletes, I recommend you find one of these machines to try it. You might just give up your gym membership!

During the holidays I bought this gym from [...]. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable, the payment process was easy, and it even arrived in time for Christmas! (It was a present to myself.) For all of you looking to make a New Year's resolution of losing weight or just getting healthier, I highly recommend you call the staff of Fitness Forever, Inc. (912-289-1153) and order a ProSpot HG-6 gym. It self-spots, two people can use it at the same time, it comes with a bench, and you can do as many exercises on it as all the different stations at health clubs! I'm a therapist with a busy hospital schedule and limited time for workouts. Having this in my spare bedroom has been great - I can just walk in there in the morning before my shift and do a full body workout. I'm telling all my co-workers about it now - and they all want one, too!

This HG-6 is a kick butt machine! I mean that in the best way. Between the full range of motion on the leg press to the free weight squat you can't get a better butt workout than the HG-6. I use the low pullys for inner/outer thigh and glute kicks as well. Combine that with the iso-lateral leg extention, leg curl and calf raises and you will have some kick a** legs and butt! At the price I got it at I would have been happy just to use it for lower body work alone. Then when you add the fact you have the most complete upper body workout machine out there as well, then you can tell this was a no brainer. Easily the best workout decision I have ever made. I will never out grow the 400lb weight stacks and am coming up with new exercises all the time.

This gym is quite possibly the coolest ever made. The looks, the sensor bar, the dual stacks....all good. I went the extra mile and got the Media center...wow! It does everything I need for a complete workout, and it doesn't take up too much space. The accessory/plate tree is something you never seem to get with other products. The sensor bar is amazing. I can load it up and not worry about having to have a partner (though the gf loves it too). Definitely worth a serious look if you want a total home gym.

The Prospot Fusion series (HG-1, HG-6 and SSG) is awesome. I work at an NCAA leading football university and we put the guys through heavy yet safe workouts on these things. Since it was a fraction of the cost of other products (who don't have grab-n-go technology for safety), I picked one up for my house. I bought the HG-6 and can do every exercise I can think out of it without the need of a spotter. Highly recommend it!
