The sticks are robust and unlikely to puncture unless squashed heavily. Use by dates are generous.There is a trick to opening. It works very well, I have opened several hundred.If you are right-handed:-Position the stick with the green arrow on top leftGrip the stick between thumb and first finger of left hand just below the green arrow.Grip the top of the stick with the right hand to cover the white 'tear' text.Tear along the perforation from left to right as far as the centre but no further.Reposition grip of left hand to seal centre and right side of stick just below the black 'Hold here' text.Continue to grip over the white 'tear' text and tear from middle to right side using gradually increasing amount of force.The top of the stick will part company with the main part.Position the stick over your cup and release your left hand grip carefully; milk will spurt out.Stoke the stick to express remaining milk.EnjoyFor left hands, reverse the above.

It's milk and it comes in small sachets. My wife uses them all the time with no issues. Always arrived fine and always have good dates and they...er... taste of milk.
