Great for a small indoor play area. Not designed to have furniture planted on it. Easy to put together, easy to take apart and store. Interlocking pieces stay together.Not too squishy. Density is perfect to "soften" my hardwood floors -- "soft" like wonderfully flexible cheap flip-flops. Priced well enough to have a another one in a second room -- comes in a 48 square foot pack as well. Would love to see a version of these tiles with a beveled outer edge.One of the kids said to write, "Makes my knees happy!"

I've had these mats for about three years now and they work well for what I needed: a soft floor for my son's playroom. The negatives are that any furniture or other heavy object will leave an indent in the mat. They can also be punctured by even a slightly sharp/hard edge (think pencil).I agree with another review who'd suggested these be made with a beveled edge - for two reasons. One, your kid will be pulling off the borders as soon as they figure out they come off. So, you will be continually putting those borders back in place over and over OR, like me, you will get fed-up and leave off the borders, leaving a puzzle-like edge (not the most attractive look). Second, having a beveled edge would be less of a tripping hazard - my son and his friends have tripped over the edge many times.Overall, I would recommend the product because it does serve it's purpose and the price is reasonable. Could it use improvements, absolutely, but I'd still recommend it.

I received the items within a week. It arrived in a box which was reused which is great except that it did not completely cover the mats. The items were wrapped in plastic as if new but were in bad shape - very dirty and slicde in places as if by a razor blade. All the squares were tan - but different shades so it looks off. We ordered the mats for our 7 month old and three year old to play on but they are so dirty, that even after cleaning them I don;t feel comfortable putting the kids on them. If I wasn't so busy taking care of my kids, I'd take the time to defintely return the mats. I've never posted a response to items purchased online before but I want other parents to be warned.

The product is functional, but the chemical smell was so overpowering that I could not keep the foam tiles in my apartment. I ended up throwing them away just so I could breathe (they triggered my asthma). If you have asthma, allergies, COPD or the like, take care with this product. The smell may not affect most people, but for those of us with respiratory illness, the impact can be swift and severe. 😷
