These Huron snowshoes are made out of Appalachian White Ash wood with synthetic laces. Very quiet and easy to maneuver, its design provides great flotation in soft snow and its streamlined tail helps maintain a straight trajectory. Somewhat lacking in quality control
First, this is a good pair of wooden snowshoes, but I had to knock off points for construction. I was somewhat disappointed with the quality control: cross-members not fitting flush with the hoops, knots and defects in the wood, varnish missing in areas, and loose webbing. None of these flaws should seriously affect the functionality of the snowshoes, but for the price, I expect a better product.

Questionable Construction
I bought the 14x48 pair with synthetic lacing. First off the wood is all splintered on the inside frame...apparently sandpaper is yet to be discovered at GV. The synthetic lacing is literally boondoggle. The lacing is is fairly loose and looks cheap. Not sure what to think about these.i thought the synthetic lacing would be nylon and stretched tight. Disappointed at the quality overall.
