My Bodyworks: Songs About Your Bones, Muscles, Heart and More!

I checked this out from our library years ago to use in my VPK classroom and my students loved listening to songs as I showed accompanying book pages. Easy to memorize songs makes learning F U N! So bought this for my new class come Aug.

I ordered this book/cd for my daughter's upcoming 4th birthday. I haven't been able to resist listening to the songs. I'm listening to them often on my own when she is at preschool because I really enjoy it.The songs are educational and the music is easy listening and enjoyable for adults as well as children. The songs are by Jane and Steven Schoenberg and the fun illustrations in the lyric book are by Cynthia Fish.The songs included are: "Bones, Bones, Bones", "It's your Muscles", "Keep the Beat", "Teeth are Neat", "Everyone Passes Gas", "Brain Power", "Inhale, Exhale", "Amazing Senses", "Amazing Senses", "Have Fun with your Hair", "Skin's In", "On the Move", and "Celebrate our Bodies".I love this idea of learning through music and I don't know why there aren't tons of CD's available out there like this. Kids can memorize jiggles from commericals--if they are going to learn stuff about hamburgers from jiggles why can't they learn everything thing else they need to know. Education should be fun and music is the universal language.My favorite songs are "Bones, Bones, Bones", "Everyone Passes Gas", and "Celebrate our Bodies"."Everyone Passes Gas" is delightful--it's humorous and tasteful at the same time. I tell you it's such a relief to not have to hold in a toot anymore. When I was a kid they didn't have books like "Everyone Poops" and "The Gas We Pass--The Story of Farts".You never saw the Brady Bunch kids pass gas. What a wonderful thing that kids today don't have to feel shame about their bodies."Celebrate our Bodies" is a beautiful song about the bodies that we have. I love the chorus and the way it's sung--"Let's celebrate our bodies, Be glad for who we are, Because we're very special. Indeed, we all are stars."My daughter hasn't heard this album or seen the lyric book that comes along but she is a body freak and I think she will love to receive this for her birthday. I'm also hoping to buy a copy for her wonderful preschool teacher and her class. I think it would be a great learning tool to do together and pleasent music to listen to as they participate in free time play.I truly wish there were more educational CD's out there for children like this one.

I gave this book to my dear friend's 3 year old daughter on a recent trip to visit their family. Within moments, she was entranced. The music caught and held her attention and she was eager to follow along in the book. We listened to it in the house and in the car, and I found myself singing along too. After I'd returned home at the end of my visit, I missed the songs myself! Since then, her parents report that there isn't a car ride when their daughter doesn't request her favorite songs from My Bodyworks. Wonderful music, wonderful writing, wonderful learning, and wonderful fun!

I bought this book for my kindergarten music students. When I heard the songs, I knew it was going to be a hit. I use it to coincide with the kindergarten science unit for our school and it is great. My kids find the music catchy and sing the songs as they are leaving the class.

This is a wonderful cd. The music and songs are artfully composed in a manner that both children and adults can appreciate. The song lyrics are a mix of being informative, instructional (i.e., how to look after your teeth, body, etc.) and often whimsical. I guess my only complaint is that there is not a song about blood and circulation but I can live with that.

We came across this book at the library, after listening to the cd I had to purchase the book. It's a great find, you will not be disappointed.

This CD took me by surprise, not only does my 4 year old like it so do I! I find that even I have learned some new and interesting facts. This has become one of our go to CD's in the car.

Great book and great songs to use in the classroom!

Some catchy tunes which a different from regular nursery rhymes. A fun book to describe how the body works. good for a variety of ages as young ones like the songs and older children can understand the lyrics and functions of parts of the body better.
