Highly Recommend these Shinguards
These shinguards are really great. Lightweight, comfortable, solid protection. I used to regularly hurt feet with other guards, but these have great protection in every area, especially on the top of the feet. They fit very well and don't slip. Another huge advantage is they're short enough to allow me to wear bulky volleyball knee guards for the sparring days where I want to throw knees without hurting my partner during sparring.

Great. BUT had to return them.
You can feel the quality and protection the minute you put them on. But they do feel a bit heavier than other pads. Minimal but noticeable. They look great and as bulky as they are, somehow sit or feel closer to the shin. The reason I returned them is the same reason most people mentioned here. I'm 5'4 and the top strap digs at the back of my knee to the point where it makes them unwearable. It's not that big a deal until you start moving around and try throwing knees.Almost perfect even with the added weight. But the top strap makes them a no go for the vertically challenged. I "downgraded" to The Challenger shin guards and those are the better choice for me. They're lighter and offer the right amount of protection. I can kick pretty hard without fear of feeling it. Both these models didn't move an inch during sparring.

Save your shins and spend the money
First time getting anything made by Venom, but happy with the quality, fit, and feel. Much more comfortable than my previous shin pads and they are light weight, comfortable, and does the job to protect my shins. I'm glad I got the higher end shin pads and spent a little more. The only question will be how well these hold up with use.

I only received the right side?
Received both guards. They look and feel great.

Fantastic protection
Great product. Worth every penny. The protection on the shin is great but also they protect the top of your foot and ankle joint extremely well. I will for sure by another set if and when these wear out. Some complained about the strap on the back of your upper calf being too high. It’s perfect for me but I was also in between the medium and large and I’d recommend going a size down. You won’t be disappointed

Can't tell the difference from wearing Hayabusa
I have 3 hours of use so far and I like them. I was using Hayabusa and they were great, but not mine. They're about 1/2" shorter and the foot pad are slightly wider and longer but feel good. I'm 6'1" and weigh 225. The XL fit great.I got the Venum gloves too and they are also great. The 16oz gloves are a little heavy compared to the Hayabusa, and feel slightly bigger vs at the finger tips.

Excellent foot gear - but think about your techniques
I train in karate - independent dojo with Kyokushin roots, spar once a week and play Pat-a-cake with a heavy bag about once a week between. Up until now I have used the standard "painted foam" kicks and some cloth shin pads. Works OK, but the kicks are clunky and maybe last a year or two tops. I have reached the point in training where I realized I'm going to be doing this as long as my body lets me so spending $30 a year on something clunky and disposable started looking foolish. I bought these and they are excellent quality and way lighter than I would have guessed from their thickness. I did not have the knee-limiting problem some have noted - I'm 5'6" and neither beefy nor cut-up lean. Mobility and design are excellent. The drawback for me is that these are very much built for roundhouse or front kicks striking with the top of the foot. There's no padding on the heel - so if you allow axe kicks, hook kicks/ura mawashi geri in sparring you need to keep tight control. They also aren't going to flex laterally enough that you can strike with the blade edge of the foot for side kicks. So absolutely excellent for what they do; but sadly limiting if you use some techniques. If only these (or any decent shin/foot guards!) had heel padding; five stars easy. Likewise if you are a Muay Thai fighter these things probably work like a dream.

Excelente calidad y ajuste
