I put these on a ceiling that had a high quality semi-gloss paint. I used four 1" sections of Scotch exterior tape on my first try. They all fell off in a couple days. Then I tried spray adhes-ive. They all fell off in a few days. The problem in both cases was adhesion to the foam, not the ceiling. In some cases pieces of the foam were left on the ceiling connected to the tape. Fortunately, our paint was tough enough to let me peel off the tape with no damage. The Scotch tape was still on the ceiling. I put up a panel yesterday with full perimeter tape and a couple 9" strips at the 1/4 and 3/4 points. I think that will hold.The perimeter edge tape appeases to be working.
