Good design,works perfect
As an individual who wants to be aware of every situation in my home, I wanted all fire and carbon monoxide alarms to communicate with my mobile phone.Since I often go abroad, my mind was staying at home.Since I use the Ring products with trust, I chose the product from the same brand. The box, product design is very successful as always. It is easy to install and I have not seen a error in its operation so far.I dont know about battery life yet.Connectivity is good too.

Added peace of mind
While we live in a fairly new home, exercise caution when it comes to things that could ignite a fire, have an emergency evacuation plan, fire extinguishers close by, fire blankets, etc. The famous saying “stuff” happens. Our interconnected smoke detectors can sound all the want when no one is home and they won’t cause the fire department to respond unless someone calls 911. When installing the Ring Alarm, we felt better knowing a signal would transmit to the monitoring center (with our subscription) if someone broke in, but frankly we are insured. I could care less about our things, don’t hurt my dogs and you are welcome to clear every last valuable. Then I got to thinking “what if a fire broke out”, how could we give our girls the best fighting chance when no one is home!?! I added these babies as well as a First Alert Z-Wave Smoke and CO detector to our Ring system. First and foremost, there is no missing an alarm activation, we’ve got 8 smoke detectors sounding at the same time, plus it triggers the Ring Alarm sirens (both the base station and the additional interior sirens we added) and Helen Keller herself couldn’t miss it. Then you also get an instant push notification and/or text to your phone before the alarm company calls. If I were out, I’d let Ring call the fire department, I’d be calling my neighbors to go smash the sliding door and get my girls out, because at the end of the day, everything else is just stuff.Aside from my dogs added safety, this removes a step from my hands in the event of a fire so my focus can be evacuation. Ring is calling the fire department for me, so I can focus on getting myself, my spouse, and my dogs outside safely. How do I know these “listeners” work, simple… I’ve had a false alarm due to a cooking mishap. Ring was very quick to get the ball rolling. Because I canceled the alarm within a few seconds of its activation, the dispatcher called before contacting the fire department, and at my request took no further action. It’s quite nice to know that someone is always there to back me up should I need it. These little guys work, and do their job well.

Decided to not use it (Updated Feb 8, 2020)
I was looking forward to being able to use this because it would integrate with the interconnected smoke detector system in my house, but still give me the bonus of being alerted in the event of fire or carbon monoxide. However, I decided not to use it because there is no way to cancel a false alarm and I don't want the fire department showing up every time steam from a shower or burned food sets off my smoke detectors.I suppose it's a liability issue where Ring wants to err on the side of caution instead of waiting to call emergency services.I really wish that there was an option to send you an alert so you can opt to NOT contact the fire department...** Update **After posting my review, I received an email response from a Ring representative and I’m updating my review to reflect my new understanding of how Ring Professional Monitoring handles these alarms. I DO still wish the app gave you more choice to control this which would also make it more clear as to what’ll happen in the event of an alarm detection.Apparently, I misunderstood how/when the Ring professional monitoring contacts emergency services. I guess when a fire is detected, they WILL attempt to call the listed contacts before calling emergency services.I’m posting that response here as it may be useful information for other potential buyers:“ Hello Aaron,Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jamila and I am an Amazon Executive Community Support Representative specialized in Ring Alarm devices.I came across your review "Decided to not use it"on Amazon for the Ring Alarm Smoke and Co Listener. I want to thank you for sharing your experience with us. I understand that you are having some concerns with your smoke and co listener and I would like to provide you with some information. If a fire is detected the monitoring station will call the first contact before dispatching police. If the first contact does not answer/requests dispatch, then a dispatch request will be made. The remaining contacts on your list are called, and if anyone can be reached, they are notified of the emergency and may be given the opportunity to try to cancel if it's a false alarm. In the event that CO is detected, it will dispatch the fire department first and then your emergency contacts are given a call. Please click here to see our help center article titled - Getting a Call from Ring’s Professional Monitoring Center for more information. If you’d like to work together over email, please reply directly to this email. If you’d prefer a phone call, please let me know the best contact number to reach you, along with the best days and times to call you.I want to thank you for taking the time to write a review on Amazon, and I look forward to hearing from you. “

Works As Advertised!
Fire/Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Listener consistently function as designed. This is my second unit installed to cover the interconnected Smoke and Carbon monoxide alarm in my two main bedrooms. All weekly recommended tests of the listener detected the fire alarms and carbon monoxide detector’s distinct sounds. Received instant notifications via mobile app and local key pads and main alarm base stations. At one time, I made a mistake while testing, due to the rule of not able to cancel carbon monoxide alarm notifications, one company of our local fire department brigade showed up within 10 minutes of the accidental carbon monoxide alarm. This Ring Listeners works!
