Good general purpose knife - not just for electricians !
Good solid general purpose penknife, of the quality you expect from Victorinox. Being a two-layer knife, it enables you to get a good grip on it when you are using the blades or tools, and I much prefer the deeply patterned alox finish to the smooth red plastic versions. Smooth, round finished ends that don't catch in your pocket - a trade-off for not having a key-ring attachment point. High quality steel blades/tools that open and shut very smoothly, but are held securely with no wobble by strong leaf springs when open. The blades are as sharp as you need (OK, the rounded part on the box-cutter blade could perhaps be sharper) and the edges of the reamer are pretty sharp too. The multi-function flat screwdriver / bottle opener / wire stripper blade is an old friend and much used on other knives I own.Dimensions (closed) are; 93mm long by 23mm from the base to the top edge of the big blade, and 12mm wide, so it's not a tiny pocket accessory by any means. Big blade has a 62mm (just under 2.5 in) razor edge on it, while the squarer box-cutter blade is 35mm (just under 1.5 in).All in all I am delighted with this and would heartily recommend, especially if you are a Victorinox fan

Great
Blade a little thicker.Spike is sturdy and useful.Small knife is a really nice shape and design for opening boxes, stripping wire, etc etcQuite like the metal handle. Stops the kids from nicking it as theirs are traditional Red.Edit. The small stubby blade is SO much more useful than the traditional small blade on the Swiss army knife a of old. This sturdy and safe blade is a good alternative to a Stanley knife in many situations and can be a little more "chissel" like than the longer blade.I'm really chuffed with this style of knife and would recommend it over the sizzored red models. This feels stronger, thicker bladed, yet slimmer for the pocket. Damn good.

Tougher than regular Swiss Army Knives.
The Alox range of Swiss Army knives are much tougher than the standard red handled range with the plastic scales. The aluminium Alox scales make for a much stiffer chassis and the individual blades and tools are made from a much thicker metal. This gives the Alox range a feeling of quality and reliability. On the Electrician model the electrician blade will come in handy for when the wire strippers have been left at the bottom of the ladder or back in the van and the screw driver cap lifter is perfect for quickly removing face plates and moderate prying tasks. The large blade always comes in handy even if itโs only to remove packaging and the awl is perfect for adding an extra hole in the tool belt after Christmas when a little more slack is required to accommodate an expanding waistline.

Almost happy, some small QC issues.
Great knife but with some small quality control issues. I purchased the Electrician model as its closest to the pioneer model but without the lanyard attachment. Having another knife of the same size as the pioneer i knew the placement of the lanyard attachment wouldn't go down well so opted for this model. Not so good bits:Neither of the two blades were razor sharp which isn't good for a new knife and there is some rubbing to the alox finish on the reverse and a small mark on the Victorinox shield. (second point fairly common apparently) I understand its a mass produced item but all knives apparently go through final inspection. Either that is a lie or someone was dozing off on the job after eating to many toblerones.Good bits:Joints are strong with next to no play. The bottle opener/screwdriver is especially strong for some reason which coincidentally also has a half stop (not sure why) General construction of knife is solid. The box was a bit crushed even with the Amazon packaging. So all in all not hugely impressed for the money i expected near perfection being from the higher up alox range so to speak, but even with all the minor issues i'm still happy and will be keeping the knife.Don't think i got a dud in any way but i guess this is the price of mass production (60,000 knives a day apparently)

The perfect pocket friendly Swiss Army knife.
I've had Victorinox knives for forty years, so I've had a few and tried several for day to day carry. I have tried the Tourist, Mechanic, Tinker Deluxe and Forester over the years, but the larger knives were too noticeable in the pocket and the smaller ones weren't up to heavy use and lacked functions. After watching reviews, I discovered the Electrician. The two layer Alox knife is slim enough not to notice in pocket, yet very solid with a thicker stronger blade than standard. The heavy duty awl and the extra strong screw driver/bottle opener are as useful as always, but the electrician blade, unique to this knife, is a very handy length and shape and I hardly ever used the can opener anyway.Beautifully made as always, I recommend my new favourite Victorinox without reservation.

You won't notice it in your pocket.
This is a great wee knife. It's a lot smaller than I expected it to be, but in a good way. As I said in the title, you won't notice this in your pocket. It's small and light, but the blades are of an amazing quality. Thick, and sharp. I've already had a mishap with it due to carelessness, and all that did was convince me of the quality of the knife. It's well constructed, well engineered, and well presented. If you want a wee pocketknife for day to day carrying, you won't go far wrong with this one.

Superb.
This arrived promptly in a small, silver cardboard Victorinox box. The knife is beautifully made, robust with a good heft. It operates perfectly & looks & feels more expensive than it is. I can't fault it in any way. It would make a great EDC & is fully UK legal. I own 2 others in the Alox range & they're just as good being a luxurious change from red plastic. Thoroughly recommended.
