I needed a new packing tape dispenser. This one is the same style as the one I was replacing. Very ergonomic and easy to use. There is a what I think is small but HUGE difference - This one came with a guard over the teeth that cuts the tape. I have never seen that on ANY of the packing tapes I've purchased ever.

I was pleased with the solid construction and general design of this packing tape dispenser. It makes taping up boxes more efficient. It does a fairly good job. It does take some skill to used it. I found that one of the problems I had was to get it to cut the tape when I completed that taping of the box. Also, when first learning, it is a challenge to get the tape to go on straight. Probably a coordination problem in my case. You will need to run your hand over the tape after taping a box to ensure the tape is securely fastened to the box. A quick swipe will generally do the job. I suspect that someone who uses this dispenser daily will develop the skill to make the tape go on smoothly and securely without having to make a final swipe of the tape to secure it.The drawbacks of this dispenser are greatly exceeded by it's advantages. I recommend it to others. Just be patient with it and after a few boxes, you will learn how to make it work for you. Also, this dispenser eliminates the need to constantly be loosening up the tape for the next task. It keeps the tape neatly organized and under control.

I bought this to replace a tape dispenser that I had for probably a decade that I ended up losing...finding it...then my husband finally broke it.i ordered this tape dispenser a while ago when I lost my other one. I almost threw it out it was so bad but opted to keep it as a backup. When my trusty one bit the dust, I started using this one as the primary one. This is the worst tape dispenser I've ever used. I have no idea how this has so many good reviews.The cutter is very difficult to use and there is no safety on it. It is extremely easy to cut yourself. The worst part is that the tape will not stay on the gun no matter how tight you have the adjustment. There is no guard to prevent it from falling off. So not only do you have to constantly readjust it, when you're taping larger boxes or items, it's not uncommon for the tape to go flying off.So...this thing is absolutely terrible. I'm looking for a replacement and don't recommend it at all.

NICE Product but the tape spool holder was loose - even with the adjuster. I just double sided a couple of the spool spines and was good to go.
