MerrellMen's Intercept Low Rise Hiking Shoes

Merrell is my go to for quality trekking wear and these do not disappoint. In fact, I think this is my 4th pair of Intercept. Comfortable and very hard wearing. Easy to brush clean too. Five stars!

Very comfortable. They are built for walking specifically in that they tip you forward through being curved up at the front, and then cushion you heavily on the heel as you step. The only slight downside for me was that I would have liked them wider for more lateral stability. However, I appreciate that that may have compromised the aesthetic design?

Quality good but not a true size, fit. I am a size 11 and not even a 12 was tight, in terms of width

Great shoes, felt very comfortable from new, however they are now nearly a year old and are splitting badly where the front bends as you walk. Wouldn't expect this on a quite expensive quality shoe. They have only been used at weekends and one walking holiday

Six months in and not heavy usage the sole has started to come away from the shoe. After spending over £90.00 I’d have expected them to last a lot longer.

These shoes are stylish, comfortable and as far as I can tell sturdy too. I bought my usual size (9) and they fit perfectly.Bought them more for leisure wear than serious walking (for which I have proper boots). They're comfortable all day long and the dark blue leather tones well with most of my trouserage. Quite heavy, so they can start to feel warm if worn for long periods, but I wouldn't fault them for that.Strong soles, don't seem to slip on wet pavements, smart appearance, what's not to like?Good price, and delivery was far faster than expected too :-)
