Works great
Bring on the rain! It feels well made and keeps you dry. It is a button up jacket which is a bummer but it definitely does it's job.

Good For The Price
This coat works best for activities not associated with bending repeatedly as rain will enter (not zipped, snaps only). Helly Hansen is top-grade.

Quality rain jacket
Finally, a decent rain jacket for work. This is a decent jacket. The hood is large enough to cover headgear and the material is waterproof. No sewn seams to pull apart and leak and a good size. I'm 6'4" and thin. The XL fits well with enough room for heavy winter clothes under it. My only gripe is the way it closes which is by snaps. It tends to pop open but I'm not sure how I could make it better. The snaps are better than a zipper IMHO. I also got the Mandel bibs in size L and with this combination and some wellingtons I can work outdoors all day in driving rain and my clothes stay dry. Much better than some of the other garbage rain gear I've tried.

I am really happy with the quality of this raincoat (have not worn it in rain yet)
This this fits so comfortably. this this FEELS like a quality raincoat. The seams and stitching look so strong I have not worn this in the rain yet but i should at least mention i havent had a raincoat this well made in a long time. I cannot afford to spend as much as other brands are asking, only reason i tried this is beacasue of the price point. it seems that everyone i show it too already knows Helly Hansen products. i did not know about them until this rain coat. very happy. if it fails to protect in some way i will update this reviewThank you helly Hansen for making somthing this good that anyone can afford.

Excellent Fit, Materials and Workmanship
Just got the Helly Hansen raincoat, and wow, it seems great (haven't field tested it yet). But right away you can tell it's going to hold up just fine. I'll be heading to the typhoon in Japan soon - excited!Seams are all double welded for durability. The thing isn't going to tear "at the seams". And any stitching is left for folded material or excess. Pocket openings were both welded and stitched, with oversized flaps for protection. It's great that there's also a nice wide inner flap where the jacket closes too.The material isn't too stiff, still flexible, and doesn't have that plastic smell you usually associate with PVC and the like. The hood isn't oversized but it does curve out to cover the face more. This is good when it rains downward, the hood acts like the brim of a cap, helping keep water away from the face. Buttons are metal with nice plastic backs that easily snap together and stay together.I'm 5'6", slim build (30" waist), and found the small size to fit well with enough room for heavier clothing underneath. The sleeves rested at a good length just above the knuckles (I imagine around the knuckles to wrist for most).

A very heavy duty rain jacket- well made and rugged
I got this for my husband and got the larger size (6X) so he would have room to bend and move over his normal clothing, but it is too large and the sleeves are a bit too long. There is also already a lot of room in the upper arm area. The material it is made from is the most heavy duty material and would probably last forever, maybe a bit too rugged for a Florida climate's rainy days. It is very well made but while he said he will keep the 6X, I wish I did order the 5X. His dimensions were more in line with the 5X. We get very few cold days in Florida but if we get a cold rainy day, this would be quite nice, but if you are looking for a lighter weight rain jacket, this seems more ideal for northern climates.Had to find another more lightweight jacket, however there is rugged quality to this Helly Hansen jacket.

bright orange, stiff material and cold but heavy duty
bright orange, stiff material and cold but heavy duty.entry-level HH ruberized raincoat. fully waterproof. much better than "water repellent"no insulating materal so feels cold to arms when you put on oddly. little awkward to close without a zipper.

This is a real raincoat
I just received this raincoat yesterday. Haven't had any rain since so I can't review it completely. All I know is it is a real raincoat. Not the flimsy nylon type that will keep you dry in a drizzle but will not in a downpour. This is a heavy weight raincoat like I had when I was a kid. No zipper but a lot of snaps. Designed to keep the rain out. It seems to fit nicely. I wear a 44R Sport Coat. I chose an XL size rain coat. So far, I like it.
