Wear it on the inside.
A lot of people overlook this type of safety gear until they realize they wish they had it. This was the case for me. Last week I was learning to ride my EUC and I had a simple fall that had me landing squarely on my buttocks. (I literally fell flat on my butt). From the perspective of the outside world, it was something simple and comical at that. However for me, it was quite a different story, The sudden compression sent shock waves throughout up my spine and resulted in me being pretty much immobilized for a few minutes. I laid there contemplating life itself as I pondered how something so basic could hurt so bad. After about a weeks time my body was back to it's normal self but the confidence in riding was gravely destroyed. I set out to rebuild my confidence by purchasing this piece of safety gear.It arrived quickly and I suited up. It looks like a diaper when viewed from the outside world so I just tuck it into my pants and it's barely noticeable. You might come out looking like you have a little rump in your pants but if you find yourself in a sports type environment or doing something that could land you on your tail end. You will appreciate knowing it's there when you need it.On the third day of owning it, I had an opportunity to test it out. I fell on my butt, this time it wasn't squarely on my rear but more to the side. I immediately got up as if nothing happened. Later on that night I still have a mild tenseness (more from the sudden sharp contraction of my abdominal muscles as I braced for the incoming impact) but by the next morning, I feel like nothing ever happened.I think in time, as you find yourself taking hit after hit wearing this, you will develop the confidence in knowing that you don't have to be afraid of when you will find yourself in that situation and when you reach that point, you will find that you are no longer tense in the fall and you will just gracefully recover.Don't be like me and purchase this after you realize you needed it. If you are doing anything that is balance related or can result in a fall, do your tailbone, spine and rear end a favor and get this because when your brain is telling your body to do something, your back is ultimately in charge of allowing or not allowing those messages to get through. There is no more horrifying feeling then your brain telling your body to do something and your body simply just ignoring the message. Your friends and family will never understand why you can't do the most basic of things and you'll grow frustrated that you can't effectively communicate to them what is going on because they'll never understand as they are not in your shoes.

Great idea but I improved it with added foam-- read for comfort!
I sprained my tailbone twice in 2016, once rollerblading and once snowboarding. This will help if you fell but I still didn't feel comfortable collapsing straight on my butt from standing, so I added a 2" piece of foam from a hard camera case in between. Now I can actually fall straight on my behind onto concrete! Sprained tailbones are no joke...

Perfect for snowboarders
I started using this last season, it's absolutely perfect for protecting your tailbone while snowboarding. I've been boarding for about two seasons now, and, happily, I'm done with the constant falls on the butt that most of us suffer through during the first few days learning. However I do still fall regularly, at least 3 - 4 falls per day on the slopes, and I never felt a thing while wearing this. And that's the whole point - to turn what could have been a bad fall on an ice patch into a minor annoyance where you just hope no one saw you. I live in the east, so ice is a constant annoyance, and I highly recommend this for anyone out here.If you wear trim little snowboard pants then this might not fit under them, and if it does, it'll probably look weird. I'm a guy and I wear big comfy pants, so this fits under them just fine. It's completely comfortable, I hardly spend a second thinking about it while riding. Also note that I tried lacrosse shorts with a plastic tailbone protector before this. Those were good too, but this is a million times better.

Good tailbone protection - extreme caution on slatted chair lifts!
I have mixed feelings about the Azzpadz - it did protect my tailbone, and I'm very grateful for that because I fell on it REALLY hard before I got the Azzpadz. However, my local ski resort has slatted chair lift seats. This became a huge problem because the bottom of the Azzpadz kept catching in between the slats when I was trying to get off the lift. (note: I was wearing it under my ski pants, not on top of them). I'm a beginner snowboarder (hence the need for extra tailbone protection), and this issue was quite problematic for me. I'm still trying to learn how to get off the lift without falling, so getting caught on the chair was not helping. This happened a few times, and one of the more notable times, I got pitched off, hard, and fell and hit my head hard enough to get a mild concussion. Not the most graceful thing to admit in a review, but I felt like perhaps sharing my story might help in some way.I wish I had constructive feedback/recommendations about this problem - it's not the maker's fault that my slopes have slatted chairs. But I feel like there might be some room for design improvement. Maybe have the bottom taper to a V underneath the crotch? I'm not sure.If you don't have to worry about slated chair lifts, I say this product is perfect. I fell quite a few times on an already injured tailbone, and it didn't hurt too badly. I was happy with the tailbone protection, but not with the design that ultimately led to a more unfortunate injury. I had to return the product.Size note: I wasn't sure what size I needed (I'm currently a size 10/12 female. I got the large and I do think the medium would have been much better).

doesn’t work as advertise
I wore this outside of my snow pants and fasten the belt as tight as I can for both waist and thighs. And it slipped away when I fell down on my butt and hurt my tailbone. And I had few other fell and the thing just won’t stay in the right spot. Never work even once. I have to learn to fell in my knee instead. The knee protector works even better than this. Does not worth the price. Think twice before you try this.
