Best Bike upgrade!
If you would like to improve the comfort of your ride this seat post is for you. I’ve been riding road bikes for years and have a lovely bike sitting in my hall but which I couldn’t face riding to work or for fun/exercise because of the harsh ride and poor roads. I thought a change of saddle might help but I’m so glad I went for the redshift seatpost option instead. All bone jarring road impacts, big and small are cushion by the suspension to such an extent that I’m excited to ride my bike again! Read a few reviews first and managed to dial in the correct tension for me straight away. I’m 80kg 6ft tall and riding a road bike on roads, I used both springs set the seatpost to number 2. There was a very slight bob on small climbs but you could can easily stiffen the setting slightly if you’re planning a lot of hills. Definitely the best upgrade I’ve ever made to a bike and actually road through a long bumpy road that was waiting for tarmac, seated, without discomfort. You also no longer have to constantly put your weight on the pedals, stop pedalling and raise yourself out of the saddle over bumps to protect your backside. Sleek for a suspension seatpost and looks top quality. Unless you’re a competitive racer I’d say this was a no brainer and well worth the money.

Smooths out small bumps and helps a lot with bigger ones!
My road bike already had headset suspension for the bars which helps avoid numb hands, but with country roads around here being so damaged, I was looking the something to help soften the shocks at the back too…The Shockstop seatpost is clearly very well and thoughtfully engineered, and that’s clear both as you take it out of the box and if you watch the detailed and thorough installation video that Red Shift have put on YouTube. The most fiddly aspect of installation is probably swapping the saddle over from your old seatpost but it’s really not tricky at all.To get the best out of it, you need to adjust the ‘preload’ for the spring (or rather springs): too soft and you’ll bounce a little too much when pedalling hard. Too hard and you won’t get enough benefit for smaller bumps. This is adjusted by turning a large screw at the bottom of the Shockstop seatpost - you can use a small screwdriver or Allen key if it’s too stiff for your fingers. There’s a guide in the box for an initial setting according to weight, but it’s more of an art than a science and the right setting will also depend on what type of surfaces you mostly ride on and your posture on the bike.Heavier riders (myself included) will need to use both of the included springs to be able to set the correct preload. For me, it took another two tweaks after installation to find the perfect ‘Goldilocks’ preload for me and my bike. And the result is great! Before getting this, I would definitely think hard before doing all but the smallest rides without padded bike gear, but this honestly adds enough comfort for trips to the shops or pub in normal clothes without your bum complaining. ;)It’s not a miracle cure for bad roads, but it makes a bigger difference than I would have expected and for me at least - who rides for fun and exercise rather than racing - it’s well worth the extra weight for the massive boost in comfort especially over longer rural rides.

The best suspension seat post in the world. Essential for stokers.
Nothing to dislike. I am a stoker therefore require the best suspension seat post in the world. Works brilliantly with my Brookes saddle, and Thorn tandem (highly recommend Thorn too)Previously I would have impact shock waves right up my spine and hit the back of my head. Now? Nothing. No discomfort, only cycling joy. I totally recommend this product. It has changed my cycling experience from a bit hard and shuddery, to complete comfort. Just buy it. Worth every penny.

Expensive? YES, worth it? read on....
Even at my advanced age I still enjoy cycling. However, I also have a bad back which is often jarred during a ride, due to the appallingly poor state of the road surfaces everywhere. When this happens it can really spoil my day!So I started to look into suspension seat posts. I researched virtually all types, read up on specs. and watched several YouTube videos. I also read many customer reviews. Clearly there is a wide range of designs and PRICES.I was immediately drawn to the REDSHIFT ShockStop Suspension Seatpost, because of its design and function, as well as the fact that it is so discreet (could be mistaken for a conventional seat post really). So I took the plunge and bought it. Once I had unpacked it from its smart, red box and held it in my hand, it became clear that it was a beautifully designed and constructed piece of equipment. I followed the easy instructions and added the additional spring, then dialled in the appropriate setting for my weight. The only slightly fiddly bit was attaching my saddle!A test ride followed and within the first couple of miles I realised that this was money well spent. IT WORKS!I found myself deliberately riding over the roughest surfaces, to put the seat post through its paces. Absolutelybrilliant. Very, very comfortable. WELL WORTH IT.

One of the best bike purchases I have made
I deliberated long and hard about spending on this seatpost, but I would pay twice over, it’s that good. It’s a little heavier than a standard seat post, but the ride quality is outstanding.I spent 4 days off road on a gravel bike and it was like being on a magic carpet, particularly as I combined it with the red shift stem.My friends on the trip rode alternative seatposts from Cane but the extra travel (30mm) on this really made a difference, and gave me the smoother ride.Highly recommended.

Works Well and make a great difference
Works well to iron out some of the harsh bumps on UK roads. It states its 350mm long but its more like 380mm so I was worried it wouldn't fit in my small frame without making the seat too high, but its fine.Would definitely recommend.

Really good product
This does really reduce shock and I suppose at the price it should. Getting the saddle for me was an experiment. Attaching it off the bycle was best to view the bolts. I'm having trouble trying to find a skim that works with my bycle. My heath Robinson device is suspect. Apart from good money after bad.
