The product comes with the wrong directions. They say to mount the hose assembly to the fan by removing the fan cover and screwing the plastic sleeve onto the fan using four screws. In fact, the plastic sleeve does not match the photo in the directions and has no screw holes. However, it does have hooks that can be used to twist-lock it onto the fan sleeve. To do this, you will need to very slightly loosen each of the four screws holding the fan cover in place, so that the fan cover has enough wiggle room for the plastic sleeve to hook onto it. Once you understand how this works, it's probably a better system than what is described in the directions. A pity they didn't bother including the correct directions.
