Sturdy and makes perfect tortillas
I've never had much success with lightweight presses, so I went for a heavy one this time. It works very well and gives a nice even thickness. Just remember not to press too hard – it works with minimal effort. I used the greaseproof sheets for something else so they weren't wasted, but I still find a plastic sandwich bag cut into two pieces works best for me.The corn tortillas turned out perfectly, so I tried pitas, because I rarely manage to get them even remotely round. The press certainly makes them beautifully circular, but they end up too thick when you cook them, and that's not the press's fault, it's the dough, because it shrinks back. You really do need to roll and stretch most flatbread doughs (and even use a pizza yeast that minimises springing back) to get them to stay thin. But I can see the press being brilliant for smaller, thicker flatbreads like polarbrod. So that's the next experiment.(Also very good customer service from Yakargo. The press arrived without the spare screw. They responded within an hour of contacting them late on a Saturday, and mailed another one out right away. )

Works great
Great tortilla press, just dry it after every or cure it with oil and heat since it is cast iron and rusts easily.Personally I would change to a more resistant bolt for the hinge

Perfect tortillas every time!
As a Mexican and taco lover, I can say this is the best tortilla press I have ever had. It is sturdy, and the weight helps get thin, perfectly round tortillas every time. It includes paper sheets so the masa doesn't stick and they work a treat! I've only used it for corn flour tortillas so far, but I will try it soon for arepas too. I strongly recommend!

Snapped on second use! No way is it cast iron.
Very disappointing after all the reviews. Plate snapped on second tortilla. Other half is a very competent cook and knows how to look after things- we heeded the reviews on being careful with the screws even.On the second use it simply snapped. We have cast iron pans and don't believe this is cast iron at all. The way it snapped would just not have happened. No way of returning it either or getting a replacement as it's out of the 30 days and apparently it's 'not eligible' :( avoid it!

Best tortilla press in the market (I’m mexican)
As the header says, I’m mexican. This is the 1st time I find a proper tortilla press outside Mexico. I’ve bought others before but they don’t get the job done as I’m used to. Great quality, materials and look. Its key to have a robust/heavy press that applies even pressure. This one did the job! It also comes with a pack of non stick paper that are super useful to ensure tortillas are easy to separate and cook right after the press. Lastly, it includes a spare screw for the handle in case it ever is needed (given the good quality)I highly recommend this product, was able to make homemade tortillas with the adequate thickness and moisture needed. 10/10!

Fundamentally good but some weak points!
I had to return the first because the flimsy bolt that holds it all together was broken in two. The cast iron is great and this could be an excellent press if it it had durable parts. It is obvious that the bolt that holds the two sides of the press together will not last long.

Great
Amazing and does the job. But has got very rusty so very early on. Still a brilliant item which has saved me so much time and energy

Works well but no instructions
Worked well but I had to Google to find a video on how to use it . It’s simple once you know how but a rolling pin would work just as well
