Excellent speakers - well worth the asking price.
I bought these speakers to use with my TV. The sound quality of most flat screen TVs is awful, but adding these speakers brought Hi-Fi sound to my living room. The left speaker contains the pre/power amps and the supplied speaker cable is used to connect the right hand speaker. There are inputs for analog line/phono inputs (switchable) and 2 digital optical inputs. If your TV only has a digital coax output, get a digital coax to digital optical converter box for a few pounds. The makers seem to have responded to criticism of the remote and a boxy, sturdy remote is now supplied. This allows you to control treble, bass, volume, input and Bluetooth pairing. The sound quality is natural and bass is remarkably good for such a small speaker. Bass freaks may want to add a subwoofer - there is a rca phono output on the back of the 'master' speaker. Bluetooth pairing worked flawlessly and I can now use VLC Player on my phone to stream music from my music server. My only niggles? The remote only seems to work if it is pointed straight at the left hand speaker. Also, my satellite receiver remote seems to confuse the speakers - not really anyone's fault! I haven't tried hitching up a turntable to this system, but my son, who bought the same speakers, is very happy with the sound from his record deck through the system. In conclusion - a real value for money pair of powered speakers that could form the centre of a budget hi-fi system.

Perfect for music or desktop
This is my second pair. I bought the 1st pair to watch movies in the bedroom on the projector via optical and the sound is insane. When watching movies one notch down on bass is perfect for me, so speech has priority over an explosion. When I listen to music I bump it up one and its like they massage your brain. No need for a sub but nice to have the option. They really are so good for their price point. They are also hands down the most versatile due to being powered and all the inputs you could want.Just a word from experience about sound quality. I don't think you can get better for your budget... and they are so compact and versatile as well just go for it, you wont regret it. The biggest thing i noticed for getting the best from them is that their placement in relation to your ears makes a big difference. Where i have them set up in the bedroom at either side of the room at ear height they sound perfect. Maybe also some soft furnishings to reduce and re-verb helps too. In the living room close together like a sound bar you don't get the most from them. Still good.. but not ideal. Justa heads up.

Great base from a small bookshelf speaker
After doing a lot of searching online for bluetooth speakers I chose these.I am not disappointed straight out of the box set up was easy.Paired with my phone first time.I always test new kit with the same track AC/DC's Hells Bells it sounds amazing i can't wait for my new bluetooth turntable to turn up to see what that sounds like.Currently sat here listening to Pink Floyd's The Wall sounds great.Good base and treble control on the remote.Plus you can pause skip forward and back from the remote if you are paired with your phone.

I'm not someone to usually write a review but these just arrived today and I am seriously impressed. I've been DJing & producing music for over 17 years so I'm a bit of an audio file. I own high end studio monitors as well as mid range & cheep ones but for the price thses are extremely good. Someone said there was no bass on a review, this isn't true. I had them rattling round the worktop with the bass. I guess you needs to pick the right audio to run through them. I Love everything about them and they are very loud for their size. The build quality is very good also.

Easy to use and great sound!
I use these for both listening to music as well as watching films and lectures online. Electronica and classical music is crystal clear, and particularly string instruments are warm and natural. Voices are very clear which made me particularly happy as it allows me to lower the overall volume and still enjoy clarity. I love the remote control as well. All the options I would want, and no cryptic symbols to decipher. Recommended!

Just Meh
Bought these speakers mainly because of good reviews but they sound just OK to my ears... nowhere near to my Yamaha or BW speakers.. they suffer from a dealbreaker issue of not remembering the selected source means everytime turn it on, I need to select the source which is nightmare

Perfect speakers for turntable and music streaming
These are awesome speakers. I bought them primarily for my turntable and have no regrets. The Bluetooth connection is great for streaming music and podcasts from my phone, but I also use Chromecast which plugs into the aux port (and I use the speaker's USB charging port for power, which keeps cables to a minimum). Recently bought an optical cable to use the speakers with my TV too, which makes movies sound awesome... the only issue I've found is that my STB remote seems to change the audio settings (they must use the same infrared frequency).
